Here is some pics of my new Ute. She was owned by an old guy who died and used to garage her. She is totally intact with all badges (they are in the glovebox at the moment!)

Tray, Terrific looking truck! Looks like the only restoration tools that you'll need for it, is a seat cover, a can of wax, and an oil change . Congratulations, John

Hi John,

Yeah we were pretty lucky as I bought it from a place 9 hours away and had only seen photos of her. It was very exciting seeing her come in the driveway! She drives nicely and will be on the open road in a couple of weeks once she is registered.
I am tossing up at the moment whether to keep her original paint colour or not...problem is my son is a spray painter and wants to paint her a different colour! Unfortunately Mum doesn't get much of a say it seems when the labour is free on the job....

Cheers,
Tray.

She is pretty cute. The things I need to do:

* New tail light lenses (they are a bit crazed)
* New barrels for door locks
* Wiper blades
* Put badges back on (the roof & bonnet need to be polished first)
* Fix the chrome along the side
* Get seat retrimmed

Apart from that she runs perfectly and the only bit of rust that my son (who is a spray painter) could find was the size of a thumb tack!

Hi Tray,

            Tray, You have a 1964 model. Or as the parts book refers to; a N320 series two model. Looks good. My ute not as good as yours( see photo below), but is in the same colour as mine was originaly. Your name plate holder & light \ handle cover on the tailgate is differrent to mine too. It was all chrome on my datto. Good luck with her. Keep safe everyone. Bruns

Sorry for late responses guys! Have been offline for a couple of months!
I will post some pictures of the engine bay this weekend.

Just an update on Gerty, haven't done much too her lately (house & garden has taken priority). However she is about to get a respray in 2 pack paint (much better for our harsh conditions than the original arcrylic).

So the million $ question I have for all of you is.....
should I keep the colour original or respray in the Chrysler blue (it is a metallic/pearl dark blue)??

Tray....you make it sound like you have a source for taillights down there.  I bought a set through Ken, the forum owner, but if you have a source, I'm sure all N/NL owners would love to know about it :)

Any chance you guys down there can get the chrome frame for the rear tail lights??

Hi all,

Mklotz70 the chrome tail light housing on the nl320 or (oz version) n320 has a habbit of bubbling of the chrome!:X l had six of them frames & all of them was no good, including the one's on my ute originaly & l replaced them with the wagon versions which has a bar thur the middle of them? Simply the frame went around the lens on the pickups & wagons had a bar in the middle to protect the lens in the middle from breaking? I have two spares plus the originals out of six wrecked 320 vehicles. So we aussies have the same problems as you folks have in the US, but we can have them remade in a fountry here in oz, But ''Big dollars'' & l mean Big dollars :( it's like the cables for our 320's they are big dollars to be made example $95 (oz) for clutch cable. ouch! Safe driving please everyone. Bruns :cool:

Brunop, I'd go big bucks for the tail light benzels for my UTE. Can you get more information on the company?

Hi ken,

Ken, the comany is that busy,it's easyier to try & find them frames at swap meets or second hand parts companys.  you got any on your vehicle or came with your vehicle? There would have to be a company in us who do this work that is remake these things? They are cast metal items, so any old fashsioned foundry would make them for you & have them chromed localy to you? Have a look in old car books on model t fords & you may find a company to do cast work! The usa love old cars, so there must be someone in the old car books. l will have check of the us books/ magazines we get in oz for you ken & see what can find. Thanks Ken, Sad about Paul (71-521) l have been offline for six or seven weeks & found out few minutes ago? :( stay safe everyone. Bruns

One of mine has a split in it and I am hoping I can find a good welder to braze it then get it cleaned up and re-chromed. I got the tail light lens, and I am working on getting new round turn signals. Next I'm going to look for rubber fabrictors, then maybe cast people. Hope all is well down under Brun! I hope to visit you someday and all my Aussie friends! Cheers, Mate.

Since the bezel is the same for left/right, we just need one good one to use as a mold.

Brunop....I have a buddy that has NO bezels....so he would love toget his hands on a set even if it has bubbled chrome......we can always powder coat it :)

Let me know if you might have a set to spare :)

PM if you would.....I still haven't gotten my email notices ironed out :(

thanks!!

Hi all,

 At this moment, l'm busy at work (Pizza shop);), doing service work on cars (part time) & work on computers. I don't get the time like l use to, that's why the datto's has sat in the sheds getting bored these days.:( No time like l use to have. So l am going to have alook in the parts shed & see where l have put those old bezels, today for you mrklotz70. I can remember one of my originals was bent. . ? :? The one's l have on my 320 are from the wagon \ van model? Litdat most wellcome to oz at anytime mate. Question of when we can meet. . ? Best time of the year is when the swap meets (November to March)are in full go. :cool:  That way you can see what companys around in oz? Stay safe everyone Bruns

Cool.
I think my buddy has found some bezels for his rig...we'll know this weekend.

I think we might still be interested in finding a decent one that we can use for casting.  Let us know what you find.  Thanks!!
