I got my engine back last week and I've basically been spending every free second I have to put it back together. I've been meaning to show you guys some pics of it but I've had some trouble recently finding a host for all these pictures. Anyways here it is!

On the stand waiting for more parts

Example of my port+polish job

I couldnt resist throwing the turbo on there to see how she looks. Sweet, eh? That's the ETD manifold there for those who dont know.

Anyways I'm back out there to work on it! Leave me comments!

Thanks guys!

Its a T3/T04E .50 trim .63A/R with the 360 degree thrust bearing and HPC coating on the turbine. It probably just looks like it's sitting too far over because of the angle of the picture... here's another for better reference:

Yeah I know those covers look pretty dirty, they're much cleaner now- plus the valve cover is going out to get powdercoated tomorrow (black + chrome mmmmm).

actually turkey day is my goal time for having this thing done! It would only take me a couple weeks from now except I have to buy that damn AEM EMS which is mucho expensive. Couple paychecks though and I should have it in the mail. That'd be real sweet if you wanted to come by: kegs and eggs early on turkey day every year man! Cant beat it!

Kegs & Eggs...LMAO. Thats a new one on me, but it sounds like a very good idea. I'll keep you posted on when I'm moving. Either way, When I get back up to NewEngland I'll swing buy. I don't need a Holiday to drink beer.

It DOES sit a little too far out from the head... So far out that there's about 1/2" of clearance between the turbo and my master cylinder/brake lines on my S14. I don't know how it is on the S13, but I wished the turbo sat about half an inch closer to the head on the manifold.

BTW, the engine looks hot... you should have some fun with this one, especially at high boost

With the AEM I don't think it'll be a problem. You'll be able to run more aggressive timing maps compared to say JWT or installing a BTM.

Since I'm only using the SAFCII I have to run a methonal kit to keep the NA maps when I run high boost. You only live once...

It might be because he's using a 4bolt T3 turbine housing which is more tangential and places the turbo closer to the drivers' side. 5 bolt T3 turbine housings have more clearance by far.

Its actually less tangential with the 4bolt. Its the one I use and actually can't be used with some mani's because of it.

Quick update: she's looking a little more complete after the last couple days... It took me a little while to get the intake manifold all sorted out/vac lines run and whatnot. It's all done and bolted up now though!

I dont think you will have much problem getting 400+ WHP out of that combo. I got 404 WHP out of a bone stock 91 with turbo, fuel, IC, and AEM. I did just about max out the 50lb injectors at this HP level tho. The one thing I would suggest would be to step up in the injector department. 50lb injectors will only net you 400 crank HP at .5 BSFC at 42.5 psi fuel pressure. Bumping up the fuel pressure 10psi can get you another 40hp but your risking it. Why not step up to 72s to 95lb injectors. We have Supras running on AEM with 160lb/hr injectors. To run the larger low impedance injectors, you will need a ballast resistor pack. Mitsu resistor packs for the ETL are less then 75bux retail and are packaged nicely.

The injectors would be the only flaw I see in your setup.

I ran 60psi static on my RB20 just to get some A$$ out of my stock injectors. No leaks and no injector failures.

yeaah Ivan you're not the first person to suggest that to me... It's definetly something that I'm going to have to deal with, but just not now. I'll tune everything on this setup I think and then once I've got everything all set, bump it up to 72# or so, maybe more depending on how I feel about the motor.

Also I was looking at your site (phatka-t), and you've got some decent prices for the EMS (especially with the UEGO and the free stuff you include)... I'm definetly looking for one myself, but there are a couple other people looking here as well... I think I'll give you a call either today or tomorrow and talk to ya about maybe doing some sort of group buy price? I donno we'll talk about it.

Thanks for the advice and compliments guys, keep em coming! ...Especially the compliments! haha

Thanks, We are trying to get the name out. Pricing is pretty strict from AEM. The most we can discount the product is 10% under Jobber which is actually a pretty good price. The only thing beyond that would be including some free products with purchase. But, please give me a call and we can chat in a non public forum about putting a nice package together for several people on a group purchase.

Spread the word

Thanks

Just let me know a few days prior so I can get permission from Greg(AZHitman) to post it all over the forums. Shouldn't be a problem, but everything must be blessed nowadays do to recent companies screwing over so may customers and members. It tends to give NICO a blackeye.
