yeah, I think im going to go witht he black vinyl. It should look nice..Its just a lot harder to work with because it is so stiff and heavy...Im sure i can make it work though.

again, if anyone plans on doing the interior on thier car let me know. I can help out with any questions you might have, or problems you might run into.

Hey man, if the car isn't registered, and your not driving it, definately do the suspension last! Its soooo much easier to work on a car that isn't ankle high that you need a 3-step process to jack up. F the haters man. Not bustin your balls or anything, but I too disagree with the colored speakers, and would not have gone with red... then again I don't have a red car. Also, S15 front is hot, I don't care what anyone says.

Thanks for saying it looks clean guys. The red is a " you like it or ya dont" type of thing. As long as it looks clean and looks like pro intalled it then im happy.

papasmurf:

Ya that car really needs some suspension work done!! I use it as my daily driver right now so its not like i can just rip into it ya know. plus if i am going to lower the car i want to do it right (coilovers) and i just dont have the money as of right now. $1,000 t drop the car is a lot of money ...but it must be done...the car looks horible all jacked up right now....go ask eds13...he has seen it in person...looks like a damn off roading car of some sort.lol

It seems the speaker cover is what did me in...thats everyones biggest complaint.....but i think it looks alright and i have the final say...so it will stay ...........but thanks for the feed back..i really do appreciate it!!!I like hearing other peoples ideas or what they would change.

No problem my friend. Id be glad to help!

you will be surprised to find out how ez it really is to give your interior a make over. And how little time it takes...Id say 3 hours for you to do it all start to finish. And that is if you are really taking your time.

Good luck with your project and dont hesitate to e-mail me with any questions.

DJ, I was thinking about pulling the factory crap off of my doors and glove box since I bought the JDM seats, they don't match the factory grey (they are a different shade), but still look okay and pulling the fabric will help it match better w/the interior). How does it look if you don't put anything else on? I have seen some pics, like in the how-to section, but it's hard to tell if it matches the rest of the door's color and it looks like there are holes under the fabric in a few places. Let me know what the glove box looks like with out the fabric. Thanx

If you just take the tweed cover off and leave it off it will look kinda funny. There are some holes, and sometimes the old glue leaves marks. I have seen some people that get lucky and there are no holes and the 15 year old glue does not leave any marks....but I would go ahead and get some fabric to prepair....at worse you will just have to go return the fabric to the store if the stock black panel isnt damaged by holes or stains....

I should also mention that because the tweed cover was so thinck...the oh s h i t handle will not be flush with the door on the passenger side.

About time someone agrees with me on how $hitty a bare door panel looks.I plan on recovering my panel, but a color(s) that compliments my exterior/interior.

I like your panel, but it'd look better on a clean, red car.

EDIT:I'd also re-cover the glove box in the same red fabric and paint the speaker grills back to satin black or replace them with stock pieces.

Seats? Definitely something with little to no red (maybe black with just red stitching or branding). Come to think of it, red Spec-V seats would look kinda hot and require minimal work to make fit (I've heard).

You car is straddling the line between rice and nice, lets keep it on the right side .

Sounds good DJ. I will recover them then. Now I just have to find a color that matches the new seats. That's going to be a pain.

Well I am sorry my car is not "clean' like you would like it to be....I am doing my best I can with the amount of money I have...I can promis you wont say that in the next couple of months....People want to see a finished product of my car right now, but what you guys have to remember is that it is work in progress...its still under construction as of right now, so why dont you wait to judge my car when it is all done....not to be rude, but Im sure my end result will put your car to shame. Just give me a little time to put it all together

And did you not read this thread at all? I dont have nice seats or "v spec seats" because id rather spend the money on other things. this was just a quick fixer upper.Something to spruce up my interior due to water stains all over the stock tweed cover, and a seat cover to hide the stock drivers side door that looks like cujo got in my car and ripped it all to hell........... Im not willing to spend $200-$500 a piece on seats when I could use that money for better use..I.E new coilovers/Rims/new turbo/injectors,and so on......If I had money to just burn as you seem to then yeah, my whole car would be finished tomarow, and my car would be dope....but because Im in the same boat as most people in nico I have to wait and save up to accomplish these goals I have. But like i said give me a little time, All I need is another $3,000 to finish my car project up...it should be all done in 2-3 months

Thanks FSUdrifter for getting my back, Its refreshing to see some members stick up for one another here every once in a while. So thanks!

DJ,

No, no, I hope you and FSUDrifter are misinterpreting my comment as something negative.

Red interior looks hot but, hotter on a clean red s13. By "clean", I'm not calling your car dirty, cheap or rice, I'm just calling your car, maroon. You have a relatively clean maroon hatch.

Definitely cleaner than my s13 (atm).

Keep up the tasteful mods

EDIT:I just completely read your reply (I was trying to reply before you got off-line and kinda rushed reading ).

I got a pair of SE-R seats for 250 shipped, from eBay a few months ago so, they ain't that expensive but still, I understand your priorities.

And not to be rude, I'll take you up on your quasi-challenge of your end result, putting my "car to shame". I was on your side (hence, the SE-R seat info and pic) but, you wanna act like a grade schooler and call me out, I'm eager to play along. We could even take a poll, " Who's car looks better: ShinHed vs DJ Cool Breeze"

Do the glovebox in black vinyl that matches the dash color. It makes the dash look uniform and not ricey. If you go to a place like Joann Fabrics, they will sell you a small amount of vinyl rather than a whole yard.

I have red vinyl inserts on the door panels, red leather wrap on the steering wheel, and am glad I did the glovebox in black. It looks much nicer than if I would have done the glovebox in red. I don't have pics yet because my vert doors are undergoing surgery.

I might get your seatcovers if I can find them. Yeah, they're not the same as having S15 or Skyline seats, but they are only $30 instead of $600+.

have you guys been tohttp://www.katzkin.com ?

it has seat covers designed for the 240 seats. different colors and designs. you can make your own design and they'll make 'em for you. They are in leather as well. Much better option than the autozone junk. Yeah it's not $25, but it doesn't look tacky either.

For all of you guys who want seats checkout your local, or nearest JDM parts supply. DJ Cool Breeze, I know you said you liked the S13 seat. I got my S13 seats from a place in Canton, GA for $90 I don't live that far from them so I drove out there to pick them up, but they would have only charged $50 to ship them. They are in great shape. The passenger's seat (their driver's obviously) has a small (like 1/4") burn hole in it and the bolster has almost no wear. My driver's seat is like brand new, literally. It feels like a new seat. Much better than my old set. My old driver's seat had the metal side bolster bar sticking out and stabbing me in the ribs. I will post pics of them ASAP. Too bad I don't have pics of the old driver's seat to show the difference. I wanted some S15 seats, but $90 vs. ~$500, I couldn't pass them up. That's a Q45 brake upgrade.

my car isnt only loud, it is 3in turbo back and rattles to all hell on the DP at idle. the hatch leaks and I have no AC........ whats not to love? then agian Im cruising around with my R32 seat too till I can fit my recaro driver seat from one of the old race cars we had.

eww your car sure looks ricey as all hell to me. red door panels????? but why?

btw, you need to learn that people are going to give you opinions when you say pics of my new interior. sure sounds like it means "this is my final product what do you think?"

I guess if its your thing..... for 5 different red color interior and something you now are saying you arent even happy with and going to update..... then enjoy. hell you could use some rite dye and dye your carpets red.

in the end. I it looks cheaply done and something you didnt put much though/effort into........ Im sure with a little effort you can clean it up.
