Thank you.

I am about to drop @ 2k into this car on July 1 to do timing chain guides, hopefully located 94-96 wood grain door and ashtray trim, new tires 245/40/18, illusion lighting upgrade once we can configure a solution, and anything else y'all might be able to propose.

Is it wrong to value this car over my own life? HEHE...

ESQJME, very nice Q, one question, illusion lighting--what is it????!!!LOL i'm trying to focus most of my time and money on the performance/maintenence of my Q. as much as i wanted to put in a slammin' system, and "pimped out" rims, i did the chain guides, oil pump, water pump, thermostat, transmission flush and screen change, and all fluids switched to synthetic. in the process of doing an engine flush, a la fred!!! i had my guides done by keith vanmeter of vanmeter motors in mantua nj, he's excellent. ex-infiniti tech, has done hundreds. highly recommended. let him know you're from NICO and mention my name, sure you'll get a great deal! good luck, and contact me if you have more questions, i'd be glad to help! jeff

illusion lighting is working with me via internet once I submit headlamp housing pics with measurments to see if we can maybe do a J30 lamp conversion or the like in a 1st generation Q. Contrary to what the board faithful here think, I just have a feeling that a newer look in the headlamps (even with lights off) will make the 1st gen Q look like a 2000ish vehicle as its body styling suggests, but its headlamps give away as older.

Will update when I know more.

Are the slotted and drilled rotors on ebay worth the 250 they cost?

What 245/40/18 tires do you all recommend for the Q's weight problem? The jap tires are cheaper, but will never last past 25k.

NO tires will be worth a damn much after 25K. Buy the best quality you can afford and replace every 20K.

My 92Q came with aftermarket wood trim. Now I sort of wish it didn't have it. It feels too "bling-bling." Maybe its the two-tone interior that it feels funny in. There's not one color in the interior that goes well with the light-colored wood. I doubt dark burlwood would match anything either.

FYI---keith does have a pretty good connection with the parts guy at a local infiniti dealership. can't argue that joe's prices are better(let him know by phone that you are a NICO member), but if time becomes an issue, keith's are definitly in the ballpark. DON'T WORRY, YOU'RE STILL THE MAN JOE!!!! jeff
