What are you referring to? Are you saying this intake is sucking hot air into my engine? Or are you saying something else? Please be specific

If that were true, then this intake wouldn't show any gains on the Dyno, which is does do pretty darn well. Remember, when you are moving, it's sucking the air through you grille, etc, which is what helps give the gains. You will also get better MPG, mainly on highway. You can see the Dyno, etc. on the website link under "more pictures".

I agree, that is why I was confused with what CAUG wrote. CAUG please be specific.

you need to isolate the cone a way from the heat from the engine. the way like some mustang cold air intakes works. they route there intakes in the areas that only gets the air from outside, blocking the any hot air from under the hood.i f you on the dino your hood is open fan is blowing it should gain some horses, but shot the hood stay in traffic for 15 min. heat is crazy.the stock set up with panel drop in filter no heat from out side just from the grill just make sense. i have 03 m 45 it works just like ram air effect. straight from the grill into the air box thou the k&n or what ever you got.in one ward under the hood too much heat. you need to block it.

caug,

I think it's better if you write your comment in Word, spell check it and only after that post it. Sorry man, but it is really hard to read your comments.

Anyways, Jason, do you have an intake for the 2003 M45 too?

Thanks.

so u say that in order for the intake to work u have to have the filter blocked, well the pic in the 1st post (msport) isnt that away from the engine? So isnt that fine, If not what do u mean be blocked?

I believe what he is trying to say is "isolate" the filter from radiant engine heat. Blocking meaning it should have some type of housing around it, only allowing air coming in from the front of the car.

Msport wrote:This was the easiest intake I have ever installed. I have installed about 5 K&N intake systems on different vehicles. Gives the engine a deep growl around 4500 RPM and a lot better throttle reponse in that range. I will post pics asap.
This intake will give at least 1-2 more mpg on highway, and also give a nice power boost. This intake sits much lower into the engine bay than most, so it doesn't pull in a ton of heat like others can. See pic on 1st page of this post.

More info and write-up here:

Also I'm including a free extra air fitler with these for a limited time this month.

Hey Jason,I bought the Fujita intake from you almost 2 years ago I believe, so I was wondering when should I clean the filter? I have no time to actually clean the filter, so I would rather just purchase a new one and replace it. Can I use any K&N or it has to be from Fujita? The first question is that is it too early to replace it right now?

Thanks

I was under the impression that an Intake for the 3.5 VQ does not and any noticeable power.

Thats coming from the Z and G guys.

The best combo is a Ztube and drop in filter every thing else is prone to heat soak and is just for sound no real power gains.

If you want power gains you should look into MotorDryne Spacers those are proven to add Hp/Tq.

Is that with or without an aftermarket exhaust system? Any other mods done to that M35 during that dyno pull? Also, when you have a fan blowing into the engine bay with the hood up, that is not giving you a real world environment. Those metal tubes are prone to heat soak. It's a heat conductor. Heat=less power when it's the intake air.1/4 mi times would have been a better true comparison against the stock system.

Also, your website lists that the Injen cold air kit increases power for the 06' & up M45. Do you have proof of this? Dyno or track results? There are a few guys that have installed them and lost power. 2/10 of a loss in the 1/4mi over stock. Those were 8 runs each (OEM vs. Injen) then averaged. I'm just a little confused what the truth really is now??

Edit:

Sorry Mt45, I thought you had a M35, just noticed your signature. I have sold quite a few injens to V8 owners as well. They don't give as much gain on the V8, but still help.

For the M35, V6, I've mainly only sold the Fujita intake for that model, and it does work and does give nice power. You can see more dyno's on Fujita's website from the M35. Any mods on the car would be listed on the bottom the the dyno, and there were none. It works, and I can provide emails to happy customers that have it installed and love it. For those wanting to contact these individuals, shoot me an email.

Also, these wll not void your warranty.

I'm a happy customer...I especially love the sound the engine makes past 4K rpm....I would get it just for that But I do have to mention that I feel there is too much engine heat going in the intake...wish there was some fix for that.

Sorry, but I would never buy a cold air intake kit for the sound... Waste of money. If there was a power difference felt, then yes. I have a thought for your heat soak. Why not try wrapping the intake pipe in header wrap. Possibly even have it ceramic coated on the outside only.Header wrap could fix the heat soak issues.
