Fake offset? Arent you the one running 17x8 +35 and 17x9 +35 with spacers?

Dont hate on something you have on your car.
I am refering to the fact that the spokes are obviously convex in order to create the appearance of an offset that isnt actually on the wheel.

and i have sportmaxes because i bought my car with mismatched stock wheels and needed something better while conforming to a budget. To be honest, yeah, they're heavy, and i had no idea how much it would affect the handling. live and learn. Given the chance i would have bought something else, like the 501's or something with lower offest/weight, in 15" or 16".

If you're going to spend that much money on wheels, dont sell yourself short, is all im saying.

I like those wheels, they look pretty tight but since they are one of the only good sized wheels for 4 lug theres just gonna be too many people with them.

Still a better purchase than Sportmax 962s....

they do have a lower than stock offset (im talking about the elites) , but i've always looked at convex spoked wheels as a way to create a larger lip and therefore the effect of an even lower offset. effect=fake.

those blue meisters' offsets are effin nuts anyway. the convex spoke thing doesnt matter at all on those really.

i guess thats just perspective. convex spokes are a design not a way to create fake offset

Spend that much? What are you talking about? The Elites are $165 a piece.

Nobody ever said they look better than real Meisters. But, Rota D2's and those Elites are two of the best sized wheels for a budget minded person. Plus, theyre one of 3 cheap options for GOOD sized wheels in 4 lug (and anything under 17x8 isnt a good size).

And they do create the effect of a bigger lip, but that is in no way creating a fake offset. The 17x9 +15's will stick out just as far as any other 17x9+15's without a convex spoke design.

Fake lip? yes. Fake offset? no. Spacing out +35 offset wheels with spacers is creating a fake offset.

damn i didnt realize they're that cheap.

just for the record, im only running enough spacer in the front to clear my coilovers. no spacer in the back. i plan on getting RUCAS soon so i wont have that ****ty camber in the back, or need for rear spacers.

whiterps13 - would you agree, the lip on these stick out further than the spoke ?I know on the D2's the spoke is damn near flush with the lip, thats why i dint like the D2's.

but with these, the spokes actually seem to be submerged in the wheel

The lower offset available for 4.114 bolts pattern is +20 for a 17''x 8.5'' , not that bad. They are available too in +25 17''x8.5''. And finally in 17''x7.5'' with a +25 offset. The best choice are the 17''x8.5'' +20.

To come back with the insane Work Meister, the guy who bought them, knew that these were made for Drift Factory for an s13 hatch with 50mm widebody fenders and a little of camber and it seems that they fit. But yeah, the guy should have invested first in widebody kit before buying those. They even came with tires, 265 in the front and 315 semi-slick for the back.

Agreed. The lip also isnt a stepped lip like the D2's so it should appear a little bigger. Plus, Id rather be running a 17x9 +15 than my 17x8.5 +25's, but they didnt offer these when I got my Rotas.

You've gotta realize that 17x9+15 is a pretty aggressive size though and is going to require a 225 or 235 stretch, some camber, and a fender roll on a stock bodied s13. I really like these for the price.

Exactly. I have 17X9 +17 up front, and they stick out. Wheels have 215's on them (not my choice, came with them) and they are streched. I am going either with 225 or 235. Little to no camber, and pulling the fenders.

The Elites look prety nice, and not that bad weight.

And the guy who bought the insane Meister's should've thought about it first. I could like lay donw on that lip

dang it i missed out on all the fun, here....

but i am planing on getting the elites in march for my 240. i will run 255's in the back and 235 up front. i think that +15 offest is perfect. all it requires is a roll not a pull. so we will be rolling my fenders here som time before we paint my car.

Unless you plan to go crazy with camber, there is NO WAY you will be able to run that setup. Trust me. I had 17X9 +17 up fron on my S14, it sticked out like and inch. Pull is a ust to make it work, unless crazy camber.
