Looking to put new all-season 'ultra-high performance' (hmm) on my stock 15's, yoka db s2's. Wondering if anyone had any pics of tires this size on say stock s13 7 spokes or tear drops. I'm to poor for another set of rims + summer or winter exculsive tires so I always go with all seasons. Currently running dunlop sp5000's asym at 205/55 and looking for a little more meat. I know the 225's will fit and the load is better but it seems the 205's already 'fill' the wheels quite well. Just wondering how goofy 225's look. pics anyone, opinions?

theyll probably look pretty silly all bubbled out the sides, are you positive that they will fit? plus the car wont handle well with that size tire on that size wheel IF it fits.

They will fit, whom ever has to mount them it will be a pain for i'm sure. Why do you think handling will suffer? Not as much straight up and down sidewall, too much flex from an arched wall? I want to see a pic because of the 'silly bubble' look. Anyone have any other tire suggestions or sizes for "ultra high performance" (I realize the irony in that, no need to mention it) tires? Minus, toyo's and nitto's.

a 225-60-15 is grossly to high of a sidwall, and wont net you any benifit over the proper "plus zero" size of 205-55-15's.

stick to the 205-55-15 with a sticky tire and be done with it.-chetyou can get s-03's and falken azenis in that size, if I recall correctly.

the azines only come on 205/50/15 which kinda sucks because they would be kinda far off total diameter but that is what i want for my autox tires on my 180sx rims. unless i can find so-3s cheaper then 126 apeice.

First off S03's etc are out, period. I'm not 16 and looking for the coolest rice tires ( obviously not saying s03's etc are rice, duhhh!). I've had my 240 for 4+ years and looking for good opinions and options on what I'm asking for, nothing more. My prob is the only tire i can find and like in the 205/55 is the dun sp 5000 which they jacked the price on since last time I bought them and its out of my price range now (paying for tuition and housing is a *****). Falken ze-512's are a good deal for 205's but I can't get solid feel off any review polls/boards as to how well they actually roll, just crap opinions on civics and other fwd cars. I appreciate your guy's opinions, give me more.. but NO strictly summer tires please.! If you don't have a solid opinion don't respond, serious and experienced replies only please. I'll be the first to admit that I dont know a **** ton about tires, this is why I'm asking.. past that give me something mechanical and I own it. Just looking for good insight, please keep it coming.!

Also chet - explain to me your 'plus zero' - Like I said, I dont know a great deal about tires...

EDIT: 95KA24de.. I haven't done it and the whole point of coming to this forum was to get good insight on the question. That's why I asked.. thanks for your opinions, they seem very relative..... If you dont like the question dont post. I'm happy you might have more tire insight then me but if youre not going to be helpful then piss off.. You dont know me and I dont know you and i tend to take responses like that personally as there is no basis for them. Knowlegde is a relative term 95.

I just fit 225/50R15 Yokohama AVS ES100s on my stock rims (92 S13 coupe with the 7-spokes), Merchant's had no problem getting them to fit at all. I gave the dude the rim and a tire and said "can you fit this? it's a 6 inch rim." He came back with it mounted perfectly and said it's actually a 6.5" rim  which made no sense to me since every source available says the stock rims are 15x6. But, whatever, they mount fine, can't wait to drive on 'em!! :)

I just don't see how there would be ANY benefit for running that wide of a tire on a 6" rim. Just get some 205/60/15 Yokohame AVS ES100s and smile.

i just got my azenis mounted the other day, and the mechanic said that if they knew what kind of tires i wanted to have installed when i made the appointment, they wouldve charged me $15.00 per tire, because the sidewalls are so stiff. I can wait to get out and test their limits. 18 days til opening autocross.

Kiwi i have Falken 512's in 205/60/15 size. They are great tires. They have good grip for a 420 treadlife tire and are holding up well on my car. I have had the tires on since sept 2003... so i havent driven them much in hot weather... but im guessing they would be a bit less grippy in the cold so by summer they will hold even better. The tire is ment to be a rain tire, and it works well for this purpose.

Its only downfall is that the tread will chunk off and feather easier than most sport tires when your racing/very agressive driving, due to the very small tread blocks. But i doubt you will use them for this purpose.

In my signature is a link to my car domain site, it has pics of the car with those tires on it if you want to look. They fill the tire well much better than the stock 195/60/15's that came with the car.
