hi guys,

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....41825

check out the pics in the NICO general forum (if the link doesn't work) and let me know what you think of my baby in motion.

It was my first time on a race course, had a frickin blast! Good learning experience, everyone MUST go if they get the opportunity. A little busy at work at the moment, but I'll give a full write up as soon as I get a chance!

keep it sideways!

Ben, trust me, go, you would absolutley love it, despite the auto transmission! :P

Yeah, fortuneatly he is ok. He was running r compound tires on a wet surface, so he had zero grip. I was in the pit when he rolled, so I only got to see te after math.

In his defense, when the track was wet, I did

1. one sideway stall2. a 180 degree spin out (that was fun!!)3. bit the grass

in my own defense, my buddy took my car out for a boot, and he is a seasoned novice driver. Even he bit the grass, but my car wasn't properly prepped for the track. Next year.

lotsa fun, highly recomend for any level of driver

take care!

yea yea, auto. i hate it, but i'm swappin in a sr hopefully sumtime so that'll take care of that problem :pface but it sounds like a whole lot of fun. i'm glad that dude is ok, and that you didn't scrape a wall or wreck or anything since it was wet. i saw the road in one of those pics and it looked damp on the road. when do you think you will go again?

unfortuinately season is over, track is shutting down soon, so my only option is next year!

:(

learned alot about my car, and what needs to be upgraded. After laps 7-10, my rear pass brake pads were smoking. After laps 10-14, the front drivers side pad was smoking. The next 6 laps, no smoke, learned to go easy on the brakes.

Stock 240 cannot handle more than 3 laps safely, I learned the hard way on EVERY 4th consecutive lap I attempted!

Lotsa fun Ben, helps you learn to drive as well, keep your eye open for a local track day and jump on it!!

Nice pics. What track was that? If you can't do "3 laps safely" in a stock 240, I'd say there's something wrong with your car. I do long sessions every time I use my stock 240 at race tracks (VIR, Watkins Glen, etc) and I have zero problems with brakes. You might want to get them checked before going to another track event. You also oughta think about upgrading to DOT 4 brake fluid. Much better for track use than what you probably have in there now.

Thanks bubba, I was meaning to do a brake flush and upgrade fluid, but didn't. Next time. The track was at Shonnonville raceway, about 2-2.5 hours away from Toronto.

Lets see, what wrong with my car -

BADLY slipping clutch (ordered one on Friday)2 bald rear tires

Stock brakes.

It wasn't a race, so I saw no reason to spend tons of cash on my car prior. I wanted to burn out the clutch, and see how the car performs with everything inside, so I didn't take anything out aside from loose articles.

I don't have ABS, and totally forgot (since my first 240 had abs). Yeah, so I locked the brakes on more than one occasion, instead of pumping them - DOH!

Not to mention it was my first time on the track, I still have ALOT to learn w/regards to driving techniques. My driving level did improve drastically, mainly cause a good buddy of mine who knows the track well, showed me the lines to take. It was all clear sailing, until my brakes would fade and I'd hit the tarmac!

I may have been able to push a couple more laps outta the 240, but didn't want to get stuck 2 hours away from home. In total, the car ran about 14-18 laps (wasn't counting). So my car took enough abuse for one day, knocked a front shock loose, killed my tire tread. clutch slips horribly now, brakes are ok, just need some tlc (new rotors installed in Aug.).

I think my approach to the turns was way too fast, just having fun, but I locked up the brakes many occasions. Just part of the learning experiance I suppose.

and Ben, there was one auto 240 s13 on the track. Don't let your transmission discourage you, there is still alot to learn just driving a course, go out and try it!
