Did you get your clip with that manifold and turbo and wastegate?

What kind is it, and is your motor built too perhaps?

Yeah that stuff all came with my motorset, cams are stock, injectors are stock im guessing the ecu is stock as well... nothing stamped on it and I havent opened it up to check for a chip or anything. I'm assuming the bottom end is stock too, I'll get around to check her one of these days :rolleyes .

The manifold and turbo are all greddy, someone spent some for $$$ it because ive read on SXOC that greddy doesnt really sell them like they sell their other kits, but appearently Norris designs can get it for you if you have the money for it. I had know idea what kind it was until I had some pics of it posted awhile back on this forum, luckily the great ppl here informed me :icesangel .

*edit*Greddy mani, td05-14b turbo, and greddy wastegate. I was told the turbo isnt much better than a s14 t28.

I wish it had a 16g on it... maybe u can answer a question for me, I was looking into getting a 16g off of the 300zx greddy twin turbo kit... you think it would be a good idea? Im not really looking for more than 300whp or so, and not too much lag. Plus its almost impossible to find a 16g with the 3 bolt tringle flange.

I don't have any plans for a south florida visit, but if I'm free I would love to swing down there and hang out with you and Dee some... I wanna see his cars (he refuses to bring them up here... he keeps bringing that damn elantra everytime he visits :pface)

oh and hold that pipe for me PLEAAASE! It looks to be a stock shaped CA cold pipe with some extra injectors, that is just aluminum instead of plastic... IE I can use it with my new ARC sidemount with an enjuku hotpipe for a nice aluminum combo:)

man i dont think your goin to clear the steering column with that manifold and wastegate all there. and i would really inisist on cracking that open and checking it . there maybe forged pistons in it, and probably bad rod bearings are you sure the cams are stock

Ill try and do it tomorrow when i get up, if i cant find my fsm Im sure the process of taking apart the head and block can be found somewhere online. Jon, hopefully the bearings are fine *fingers crossed*. And if it doesnt clear the steering column I'll just sell it and buy a different setup. Thanks for the input.

My Elantras will probably beat-up some of these S13s on these forums with all the problems they are having especially the KA24s:D

Both of my Elantras got enough N/A juice to make most of them "back that @$$ up". They are our everyday cars and they are cheap to fix and fun to drive. They can drive anywhere across the country on a moment's notice and these two particular ones are the perfect sleepers.

But they both are built to run with the best of the best. You'll have to get with me "rookie" and let me see what you got yourself into.

I guess today is hate Dee day, huh! I hope all of your pistons melt or your oil pumps stop pumping or all of your turbos just lock-up or your ecu just burn up (No offense Ben=240Trainee):D .

Yeah, that green one is supposed to be fast one of theses days :rolleyes .... It has a LS motor in it and is going to be boosted.

Yeah, sometimes I look at this motor and wonder what I've gotten myself into aswell...I'm just a "rookie":help ... hey anytime you have some free time I'd be more than happy to shoot you the directions or I could take a trip to miami. And gosh Dee you know its all luv man no one hates you... :chainsaw

Geez.. do all CA18DET clips come with those rusted motors, turbos, and rusted manifolds on them??

I understand it's a 13-14 yr old clip and all, but that kinda worries me (CA18DET swap planned in future)..

Quote »Geez.. do all CA18DET clips come with those rusted motors, turbos, and rusted manifolds on them??[/quote] Let's see, the CA18DET has a cast iron block and Japan is surrounded by a huge body of salt water=something has gotta give. The SR is an alloy block and alloy don't rust; but it's nuts and bolts are not and they will rust. It's mostly surface rust and it won't stop the engine's performance. If you must absolutely have a bling-bling engine, spend the bread and get everything cleaned-up.

and truthfully, there's hardly any visible rust (you can't even see the block) and whatever there is, it's just the exhaust side of the turbine....which I mean....c'mon!

I was just wondering that's all..

I just wanted to know if it will cause any problems (because I wasn't sure).

It seems that it probably doesn't really matter.

(I just realized that most of the rust is on the exhaust of the turbo, like you guys said. That really doesn't matter so much, because you're going to replace the exhaust components anyways)

But yeah.. I'm still gettin a CA18DET (later on) :)

Thanks for the info.
