Well, took me quite a while, but I'm home. I have yet to take some nicer pictures, with a clean car, haha. I also included some of the old 200sx, with a little bio (pretty sure there were a handful of people interested)

1997 200sx (sr20det)
Originally purchsed new in 1997 as my first car, I began modifying pretty early. I started with an all-motor ga16 build, and by the time I was finished 3 years later, it managed a 173 to the wheels. I got bored one quarter in college, and decided to go all in. I got a Bluebird front clip and swapped it over, transforming my little 1.6 SE model into a debadged 2.0T. In the end it dyno'd 317whp. I drove it like that for about 5yrs, then blew the motor here in OK on my way home from a Tool concert in Tulsa. Lame. I sold it, and 6 months later got the A/C.

Here's a list, albeit incomplete, of the work done:

Custom lowering springs + Koni fully adjustable struts
Stillen strut/sway bar set
Stillen camber plates
Stillen GT-Z Front Fascia + Grill Insert
Factory SE-R side skirts/splash guards
Primex 16" rims, wrapped in Yoko (cant remember tire series anymore..way too soft for my college budget, but oh so fun)
Custom 2.5" exhasut, no cats and free flow muffler ("cat" was there, just hollowed out with a test pipe welded inside. had to pass that cali roadside inspection afterall :chuckle: )
sr20det swap, with new internals from a wing of NISMO that specialized in the fwd touring sr20's in the Land of the Rising Sun
GT-R core FMIC
Greddy External Blowoff valve
t20 ball bearing turbo, custom done by a college buddy that worked at turbonetics for a few yrs
complete Bill Gude valve train (all custom, as he only did Honda motors at the time)
Port & Polish head (also done by the ever-capable Bullfrogs over at Gude)
Extrudehoned Intake Manifold
JWT cams
Re-geared transmission
ACT 2800 racing clutch
9.2lb aluminum flywheel
Stillen pulley kit
aftermarket trans-axles (cant remember brand, box was all Japanese writing...had to upgrade after snapping a few at Buttonwillow on weekends)
10pt roll cage, custom done by myself and a buddy at a Porsche race shop (his place of employment) over a 4 day weekend, haha

I'm sure there is quite a bit I'm missing, but thats pretty much an overview. As you can see, there's a lot of custom work. At the time, and I imagine still, there is very little support for that model, esp when taken to a whole new level. Considering the lack of a "200sx" in Japan (aside from the 240sx predecessor of the early 80's) I was working with next to nothing, as most of my "peers" were driving the Infiniti G20...not exactly an easy swap over for parts. Obviously very healthy for a college student's budget. Yay Ramen! I can fill in any other details I forgot for those pondering minds out there. I apologize about the lack of pictures here, I'm waiting on my old hard drive to get here from Cali, so this is what I have on hand. The icey picture is actually from a nasty ice storm here in Dec 2007 (I'm sure insane remembers that especially chilly winter)

Well, that's that. Hope those that were curious enjoy.

Oh yea, the wife is def fighting any transformation on the Alti to similar levels. Tedious and slow, any married guy knows these wars, and I'll get everything done :rotfl

edit: forgot transmission stuff

Thanks. I really miss that 200...not only my first car, but so much time, money, sweat, and most def blood donated to her progression. At least I have behind-the-wheel memories of various Cali tracks to comfort me in the middle of the night.

Very cool build on the 200sx. Hope the wife doesn't hold you back too much on the new ride :)
