Well, I went scouting for a possible, meet/run through the Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive today. First let me say, it was friggn awesome! Drove from Rt 33 to Front Royal. It's about 50 miles with so many turns i lost count. I'm going to plan a route for us (with nico peoples input) Then next weekend to scout our route, count the turns and milage and ask about getting a Club discount. Stay tuned for more info.

There is a big stop area/campground/rest area and i came up on it too fast and a park ranger stopped me and gave me a warning. Very nice lady.

About half way through my trip I passed a group of 6 crotch rockets, that was pulled off on one of the many overlooks. They all watched me go bye. Not 5 minutes later i see them in my rearview, comming up fast. I hugged my white line and waved them around me. The zoomed past and I punched it, We zoomed way too fast through about 5 miles and 100 turns and switchbacks. omg so fun. My logic was A) they get the ticket and B) they will wreck before me.

And the best part of my trip: At about the 3/4 mark i came around another corner and see another pull off. Parked in a sexy line was a rack of 370z's!!!!!!!! I slamed on the breaks and whipped my ride in. Turns out it was a group from the http://www.the370z.com! I jumped out with my camera and introduced myself. Very nice crownd. Turns out the had a run planned (i googled it http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-reg ... ruise.html) What are the odds? Any who we chatted and i started taking pics and i look over and they have there camaras out taking shots of my baby :) any who I sooooo wanna do a meet and run on the skyline!!

Ok enough jabber, here are the pics. The white one has a Zupercharger! yummy!

Haha! I have been working alot. It's slowed back down a little and i get to have a life!

"The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park. It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the park on a clear day."

I did about half of it yesterday from and omg was it a fun drive along the top of the mountains! Sooo many turns! It was like AutoX with scenery. It runs from Front Royal to Waynsboro . It runs parallel of Interstate 81 from interstate 66 to interstate 64. Also, unlike the devils gap run that has warnings of Speed traps every half mile or so, Skyline drive only has one. both directions as you reach the visitor center that I talked about. And let me tell you, The park rangers are waaaaay more laidback then the hick cops in NC! "Here is your warning. Thanks for comming to our park. Have a wonderful day <with a smile>." I was doing 55 in a 35. She even laughed at my Plate "BYOFECR". You could tell that for them, its just a job they like. Not a life they hate. Also, its a shytload closer than NC/TN for our more northeast NicoNuts. Easy drive for any in NOVA, DC, MD, PA and WV. A little more driving for NY, NJ, TN, NC and OH. We could hit that Visitor center for one of the pit stops, they have a restaurant that could handle whoever makes it if thats where you all want to stop. There is also a gas station there.

I may also get with some of the 370 group i ran into and see if they would want to roll as well. Still looking for more Nico input. I was thinking that if its a mostly northern crowd that we meet somewhere in NOVA, and cruise to Skyline together. Start at the top (Front Royal) and do maybe half of it, back to rt 33, then U-turn, head back though to the visitor center for a pit stop/lunch then back up to front royal. This is just what I was thinking. Nothing set in stone. Throw some ideas at me. It was $15 per car to get in, and the money goes right back to the park service and upkeep of the park, so I was thinking of NOT asking for a Nico discount. I think I would feel like I'm taking from a good cause.
