Ok....here we go. The video is 5 or 6 megs, and the pics are all under 100k. The mount kit was Unstable Hybrids, and the downpipe was me (don't laugh...it's maybe the 4th real thing i've welded...but it works, and it doesn't leak, and it bolts up to the JIC exhaust, and it clears the steering rack, and it gives me 3" from the Turbo to the Tip).

Any questions you have, i'll be happy to answer, and any more pics you want...just let me know.

Looks pretty quick. Does it feel pretty fast to you for being a 2 liter engine? Basically anything you have to say about it would be interesting to read. Good job...

it's damn fast. I'm at 12psi. The only thing i have to get use to is the lack of torque off the line. You have to spool up the turbo if you want to get any speed from a dead stop. It's just a turbo thing....i'm not use to it. The car is off the road right now. Some rear brake issues from when i converted to 5 lug. So i ordered the 300zx rear brake calipers and rotors. I also have the front brake calipers from the 300zx and Brembo rotors. I'm waiting for my 5zigen Typhoons to come in. Nothing else will clear the brakes.

Nice. Very. Your welds look pretty good to me, btw. And what color blue is that? Is it stock?

So you have the rb20det to S14 wiring worked out? If so, could you post it somewhere, or send it to me so I can post it? Does the A/C and tach work?

I didn't use AC, and the Tach is not wired, though it would be off, because it's for a 4 cylinder not a 6 cylinder. I have an SAFC that shows my rpm, and an HKS type 1 turbo timer that shows RPM, both have wanings set before redline.

The blue is a stock color. Some kind of blue with a TON of pearl. It looks purple in certain light.

We are still working out all the wiring. I will post a how-to when i get it sorted out. There are a few things i would like to run that i haven't yet, and a few things that don't *need* to be ran, but i would like to know where they go.

i have more video, it's just not online, i can post more if you want.

Do you have any Meters in the car? EGT? Wideband? What kinda fuel pump are u running 255lph? I'd like to know what the AFR is at 12psi with a bigger pump behinde the stock injectors.

i'm running the 255lph walboro pump. all i have in the car is boost, water temp, oil pressure, and A/F. i am taking the car to a Dyno that has a wideband, so hopefully i can get it tuned. I'm also thinking about buying a Wideband 02 Kit since we will have more cars to tune in the next few months.

does your TSI run? I have a 90 talon with leather fully loaded...it's in beautiful shape. Some idiot blew the motor, so im trying to fix it and sell it.

It did run. I sold it 4 months ago to start a new with my 240. I sold it with alot of stuff on it but only sold it for 2800. It was 90 with Griffen Frontmount Intercooler, RRE intercooler pipes,Denso Pump, AFC with Map sensor mod, Autocrapper boost gauge, Greddy EGT peak an hold, 3" exhaust, rebuilt head, 660cc injectors, T3/T4E 50trim on a crappy cracked log manifold, HKS external gate. I kept the 660cc Denso injectors and the EVC 4 boost controler. It was a damn fun car when I didn't break it lol. My best 1/4 was a 13.2@108 missing 2nd and 4th lol. The damn Shift cable was almost broke and I couldn't get it into gear sometimes. I changed it later but never took it back to the track after. I hope my 240 with the RB20 is goin to be as much fun or more fun.

So you were running a Denso pump huh yellow? How did you wire that pump? I have a Denso pump as well (from MKIV), and see that the terminals are exposed directly to the tank... did you just wire it up and drop it in? Doesn't seem like the safest thing to me.

Yeah, Hybrid's car is pretty quick. I am the one taking the vid that is posted. We have more videos, but they are kind of windy. I'm sure we will take some more soon and try and keep the mic covered this time.

Hopefully with the bigger tires he has on back now, it won't spin as bad as when I was racing a 350Z in his car (he was there...actually in the Z). That motor is perfect for drifting considering it makes power all the way to redline, and with the lsd it will light up both rears with ease. By the way, it holds strong against the 350.

Ah, I forgot to ask... what kind of fan setup did you use and what flowrate? Someone said 2600 cfm a while back... seems a bit large to me.

I have a bit of rb20 wiring info as well as a 1995 S14 FSM. If you post what wiring problems you are having, I will take a look and see if I can help.

On the 1G DSM it droped right in. it was the 150lph pump. I hard wired it to make it flow 190lph. I really like those pump might spend the extra cash and get the one Phase 2 sells for the SR20.

i'm running two electric push fans...i think 1600cfm combined. They are quite enough.

thank you for offering wiring help, though i'm not having problems, i'm just going through the entire harness and figuring out what each wire does, and where it should go, or if it needs to go anywhere at all. i guess it's a little overkill, but there are quite a few left out wires, and i just wanna know what they do. personal satisfaction.

HybridOne, I am to the point of needing to make up a downpipe. Where did you get the turbine flange, O2 sensor bung, and catback flange for yours? I can't really tell from the pic, but it looks like you used the stock cast iron flanges and bung and just welded them onto your exhaust pipe. And is that 2.5" piping?

Thanks,Shane

i used the stock flange and cut it right behind the bung. Then i heated up the cast piece and welded 3" pipe to it. It has worked fine so far.

it was raining and i still have the crappy tires on the car. I hydroplaned and slid into the ditch. It was stupid. I wish i had done it trying to drift. At least it would have happenned for a purpose.

Thanks jbanach. Sorry you can't see the video, it's mpeg.

It's gonna be hard to drift with all that weight up front. you may want to stick with drag racing or get a SR20.

do you have a RB powered 240? or know anyone that does?

im gonna assume you dont so you have no first hand experience with drifting a RB-240. correct?

your an idiot, he said he wasnt trying to drift, he slid into the ditch bcuz his tires were bald and he hydroplaned, read his post again. Go to the SR forum if u have a problem with RB 240's.

i can pull perfect figure eights in a parking lot with this car. this car drifts like a bat outa hell. i went into a ditch because i had bald tires and hydroplaned. The fact that i went into a ditch has NOTHING to do with the motor in my car. thats the most re****ulous thing i have ever heard of.i went into a ditch because i have an rb in my car. your right .... the SR is better, thats why they put them in skylines.Anyway...i like my car, your engine is your preference, excuse me for trying to be different. by the way, what are you doing in the RB forum if you don't like RBs???

That video was very impressive. I live hear okinawa japan that sounds just like a gts-t skyline:D . I am very impressed how clean the motor is in your engine bay. That is one very clean swap!! That guy who made the comment about RB's is idiot. Being over here in japan have seen that you can just about drift any car with any engine if the car setup right.
