I really, really apologize ahead of time for asking a question on a topic that I'm pretty sure you guys have answered many times but I'm a noob here. I have a 91 Hatch and I am planning on throwing on a set of wheels with a pretty sick offset. I definitely don't want to go with fender flares, just want to do a fender pull. I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions on how to get this done. I'd also like to see any pics if you have them of some good fender rolls and pulls. Here's what my 91 Hatch looks like right now.

diy 2 people

1 stick flashlight/bar/crossbar/item of your choice as far in between the tire and the fender as you can

1 person slowly drive forward/backward while the other person guides it through the rotation

if necessary while you are doing this process and need a bigger roll push/pull the flashlight/bar/crossbar/item of your choice as it you as you are guiding it through the rotation.

start small and go slow.... use sense... if your car has almost no fender gap you need to start really slow and slow.... a baseball bat has a good range of size to work with. Also a heat gun helps keep the paint from chipping/cracking

dont exactly get what your saying here..your saying use a "half phonebook" sized paperback and fold it?

i think he means a chilton ( not folded.... as far as i know they are hard back lol.. ) or a newspaper folded up...

and his method involves goin up and down on the jack instead of rolling the car forward

i used the handle for my floor jack. diddnt have to jack car up, just started down low and rolled the jack handle instead of moving the car. start slow like the others said. i just rolled it little by little until my wheels cleared

Thanks therealnapoleonyou got it right my way is hard to type out but works real good.i have done the bat rolling but that can couse some waves in the fender the newspaper roll is easyer to fine tune how much pull u want.it is a slower way of doing it but i think it comes out better..but both ways work great..

I think I'm gonna try the newspaper idea first then if that doesn't do the trick I'll use the handle of a floor jack that I have. I have seen the Youtube video on how to do this but I was a little skeptical that it works but now that I see that it does, I'll give it a shot. The first thing I have to get my hands on is a heating gun so the paint doesn't crack. Has anyone here ever done it without heating it up first??? Thanks everybody!

Lol, the real (and smart) way to do it is to use a fender roller.

Sorry, but a baseball bat or a jack handle is pretty ghetto!

I would be way to scared of crushing my fenders if I rolled them that way. Seems like a lot of you have had good luck though.

But either way, make sure you have a heat gun. It'll help A LOT.

id definatly use a heat gun with it bein cold. i diddnt use one when i did mine but i diddnt care because im gettin my car painted. i diddnt have any paint crack. but that was summertime.

and a baseball bat or jack handle isnt ghetto, its ingenuity.

this isnt a great picture but its a tucking 275 on a stock body s14

i used the newspaper/magazine method.

jack car up, disconnect lower coilover bolt, place newspaper and magazines between tire and fender, drop car.

use heat gun and repeat.
