I've got a 96 nissan pick up, ka24e engine, 2wd, 5spd.

when you crank it up it idles for a few seconds really low(like 400rpm) and then cuts out. If you give it gas when you start it revs up, but as son as you let off it will idle low again and cut out. if you hold the revs up at 2000rpm for about 15-20 seconds and then let of the pedel it runs fine from then on.

I found that the wires going to the intake temp sensor were dry rotted off. so i put in a new one and soldered the new wires directly onto the engine wriring harnes(since the break was befor the plug goin to the sensor). i'm farly sure i got the polarity right because i noted the wrire coloress.

it still does the stalling thing. any ideas?

I also have a 91 240sx hatchback automatic i just bought for my gf and it makes a dragging sound that seems to come from the timing chain case when it idles. bad timing chain tentioners? wasn't there a recal on those or was that only the sohc ka's?any way the vin on the car is JN1MS36PXMW019243

Thanks in advance.

Ps. truck has 105K micar has 120K mi
