Pickup coil questions

Do you guys know if the ignition coil is the same as the pick-up coil? and if not is the pick-up coil the same as the main coil? I need to know what to replace.

I had my car computer diagnosed (92 hatchback ka engine 150k miles) and the technician said that the subtle little explosions that can be felt above 2krpms are caused by the pick-up coil, what do you guys think about this?

the entire ignition system is:

Battery/alternator- - - - -to- - - - - -Ignition Coil- - - - -to- - - - - -Distributor- - - - -to- - - - - -Spark Plugs

Im guessing he ment the Ignition Coil, theres no other coils or systems along the ignition path
