Alright so, I found a spare block. It has a spun rod bearing and its missing the oil pump and valve cover.

I’m going to do a full build so I can have a reliable KA-T. I found eagle rods, weisco pistons 9:1, rings, wrist pins and ARP 2000 hardware for $800 to my door. Does that sound good? This is my first KA I’m building and I have been reading not posting the KA/KA-T forum so I don’t really know all the good stuff yet.

Any who, I know I need to get another crank and some bearings and then I should have the bottom end done right. I'm going to do this in stages from the bottom up so when I’m done with the bottom them I will get all the other ARP hardware.

I figure for my HP goal I want to hit 300-350 maybe a bit more but knowing me once I get that I will want to turn up the boost.

For the head, I’m thinking doing all BC valves, spring, retainers and cams.

As far as turbo and fuel goes I have no idea I really don’t know anything about those yet I have been concentration on the motor parts for now so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if I messed anything in the please tell me.

Get some ARP main studs as well. $800 sounds like an okay deal for being brand new.

It seems pretty pointless to build the head for only 300hp. Maybe some V2 cams or s13 cams, and new valve seals. Possibly a slight port and polish, but I wouldn't go all out on it.

If you want to go with a top mount, get a t3/t4 50trim with a .48ar if you want a quick spool and still be able to hit 300whp. Or .63ar for a little more lag, but still have room to make more power. 550cc+ injectors would be fine. I"m not sure on what kind of tuning you'd want to use?

yeah I'm planning on full ARP hardware... also i was thinking about the s13 cams. i read some of the stuff over but i cant remember right now weather i need both or one of the cams from the s13. at the price i can get them ill just get both.

i don't want to get a turbo that will just get me to 300hp. i want something that will get me to 450 at the max. id like to be in the upper 300 low 400 to start with.

You should start small and then go big. You want to break in your habit for boost. Also, you want to be able to handle the car, and know what to expect when you stomp on it. The S is a handful with 300+ hp.

To be honest, i enjoyed starting small at like 12 psi of boost. This let me get accustomed to the car and how it drives with a real engine in it. Later once you get bored you turn up the boost.

You got a really good deal on all that stuff, lucky man.

Since your asking for a turbo recommendation i would have to say a t3/t4 50 trim .63 ar. It has the capability of 450 hp with awesome throttle response. I love mine, would never go smaller though. This is the most common turbo size for the Ka, and the most popular.

i had a 88 300zx turbo in high school and it would spin like a top. it didn't have a lot of power but more than i needed with the lack of driving skill i had... it showed one day. i hit a curb and took the wheel off

yeah i have heard some people say that the S-chassis is a handful with real power in it. my friend has a sr powered s13 with 400whp it fun to drive but he hasn't really "let" me drive it. i do have 350Z so i know what 300hp feels like and yes I'm aware that different cars feel and react differently than others.

i have had some people tell me epathy tune would be good to use. i haven't investigated what that is and have no idea about it either.

I'd go with 740cc drop in sidefeeds for injectors, a Emance ecu tune and a T3/TO4E with a .48 AR hot side. It's good till just over 400whp. Any eBay FMIC will work great. IMO I'd just go to JGS and get his turbo kit, it's a basic kit but comes with all the essentials, turbo, mani, down pipe, oil lines etc. With the eBay fmic and Emance tune you'll be golden. Course you'll need a new MAF, like the N62 or Lightning.

I'm liking all these suggestions that every one is giving me. i put all the parts in to spreadsheet and then go find the prices so i know what every thing is and how much it cost.
