Picking up EX37 tomorrow in Amsterdam

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Greetings from Holland,

After a long 6 months of rental cars in the land of windmills I am finally taking delivery of my 2009 EX37 tomorrow.

I will try to post some pictures once I have a chance, and hopefully a sunny day.

Just in case anyone cares, I would like to give a bit of background and also explain the troubles with getting a car set up here in the Netherlands.

Started driving Nissans back in 2000 when I picked up a Fairlady 300zx in Japan. Originally from Michigan I lived in Nagoya Japan for 12 years. Loved my Z car and when the time came I moved into a Skyline 350GT for 3 years before upgrading to the Skyline 370GT when it was introduced. Last September I took a new job that moved my from Japan to the Netherlands and the only car I ever considered was the EX37, and tomorrow if finally delivery day.

So had to set up a lease here through my company and am paying 2,200 EUR per month for this lease. Crazy, hey? Well the car brand-new and including the price of the car, registration taxes (40%), and sales tax (19%) takes the price of this vehicle to over 80,000 EUR. Makes the car twice the price hence the crazy lease payments. This is also the reason I am taking a 2009, as they dropped the price 14,000 EUR as they wanted to off load the car.

I am looking forward to getting out of these underpowered Euro cars and back into my Japanese machinery with some real HP. Just going to have to watch out for those damn Dutch speed cameras.

Will post some pics soon

Congrats on the new purchase! Very jealous that you got the EX37, in the U.S. we are stuck with the EX35, probably has a better feel with the bigger engine. Probably won't have the EX37 for another year or two but at this point I already bought my EX35, looking forward to some pictures and differences between the EX37 and EX35! Could use an extra EX buddy on the other forums as well, http://www.infinitiscene.com/ ..

Welcome and hope you enjoy your car, especially for the amount of $$ you paid!

Zarar,

Thanks for the note.

As far as I know, cosmetically there are not that many differences between the 35 and 37. Underneath so much is different, especially if you believe the sales guys here in Europe that Infiniti changed 500 different things on the EU vs US model.

Got to test out the ICC on the drive down to Rotterdam today and it will take a little bit of getting used to. A bit of a control freak so don't like the idea of the car doing everything for me, but am sure I will get lazy soon.

Hope you enjoy the photos, nothing great as I didn't have much time, but wanted to take advantage of the sunshine here in the rainiest city on earth...

Now, can someone help me with posting the pictures, can't figure it out. Sorry for the newbie question.

When get broken in, take it down the A1 past Odenzall about 3 kilos where the fun part of the A1 starts. Wondering what max is for one of these in Euro version, guess you will get to find out. Tried to rent a 3 series when there on business back in early Dec. but with associates and bags settled on a Volvo wagon for the week. Like driving in Europe, especially with an English speaking GPS.

To upload photo's, you can use any free website that allows picture uploads such as photobucket.com or http://imageshack.us ..Once you upload it, just adjust the image size for forum view, usually it will give you an option in the additional drop down menu. Once the file has been uploaded, get the 'direct link' of the image, once you have the direct link to the photo, insert the link like this ---> [ i m g ]http://Place-Your-Direct-Link-Between-Here.jpeg[ / i m g ] (Remove the Space between the [img] Code's). Let me know if this is too confusing lol.

Dear All,

Thanks for the comments and help with the linking of photos. I have given it a shot, but if I fail I will give it a shot again.
