Hello everyone! I am contemplating on which car would be best suited to my needs for drifting, but also be daily drivable. I have to also take into consideration the emissions inspections at the same time. I was looking into the 350z because the procharger s/c is CARB legal and will pass emissions, but those are kind of hindered by there weight. Before that, I was looking at the 240sx route, but engine swaps don't work to well when trying to pass emissions. I'm open to any and all suggestions. I don't really have a mind set on which vehicle at this point. Well, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get the Z because it'll come under warranty unless you hit the wall...

Hail to the HEED!!!! lol Yea, I guess it's not really that big of an issue with the 350's weight. Plus, it has the VQ with a 6spd MT.

You'll pass if the inspector knows the presidents? Also depends on your emission laws. Some are more strict so You might just have to pass one code instead of 6.

A 17 year old with a blown 350z, that's quite a budget. Being a young person I think a 240sx is a better choice because it is 1/10 the price, and you wouldn't want to hurt your pretty 350z drifting.

the stock KA 240 can drift just fine if you have any type of lsd and some skills...so I wouldn't be too worried about doing any engine swaps personally. The 350 should have plenty of power as long as it's got a vlsd or better and you can turn off traction control lol. I don't know so much about new cars...they are not in my price ranges. Looking forward to the day when i can spend 20 or 30 grand on a stock car for drifting haha

You should be alright as long as you have a vlsd or something better to keep those tires spinning. Have fun

I'm not talking about buying one right now lol...I mean like in the next year or two. I have to worry about schooling and all that **** before I pay for something THAT much. Thank you for everyone's advice. I really appreciate it.
