Hey everyone. i have a decision to make. so this is my situation i'm in. my sr20det engine came with a used nismo clutch that is worn, how badly i'm not sure. it has 6 springs and is maybe 1/16 th smaller in width then stock. i also have an exedy clutch that is used for stock/ lightly modified vehicles. well i'm planning on making around 300hp with the turbo i got. my question is which clutch do i use? i dont have much insight on the wearing of clutches and am wanting to kno if the nismo one still has life left in it. i dont need it to last for years of course, hah if either will get me by for 6 months without slipping thats just fine. also can i swap pressure plates or do they have to go with the specific clutch. the width of the exedy with 4 springs that is brand new is 5/16th....the width of the nismo is 1/4 so the difference is only a 16th of an inch. is this considered huge as far as clutches go? if someone could post a suggestion that'd be awesome, thanks!

sounds like a usuable clutch. personally i would replace the clutch if the engine is out just because its easy but if you like doing things twice then you can use it. make sure its worn evenly and not oil soaked and atleast replace the throwout bearing and pilot bushing.

replace the pressure plate when you replace the friction disc. different clutches use different specs in plate and clutch friction material which they match accordingly.

still - i'd replace the clutch...
