Hey guys im contemplating between getting 18's with 235/45 tires or 19's with 245/40 tires and i know there is a bit of a price jump but only about $200 for the setup i want. Now my only concern is the area i live in has some really beat up streets in some areas. so my question is if i dont drop it how rough will the ride difference be between the two. and also will i have to worry alot more about hitting stuff without getting flats if i get the 19's?

Well, If you are really worried about the streets go for the 18s. Personally, I live in what looks like a warzone, and I have 19s up here in Massachusetts. Thing is, I went and made sure that I got forged rims. Not that they are the be all end all, but they are stronger and definately ease my mind with getting alloy rims bent up.

Also, if you see a pothole... avoid it. You have these new wheels not just for looks, but for handling performance.

I vote 19s if you aren't worried about the money.

I personally think, looks wise, I'd go with 18s if the wheel choice doesn't have a lip, but 19s if there is a lip on the wheel.

As far as being scared of roads - go 18s. As far as being easy on money, go 18s. As far as ride goes, go 18s.

Any particular style you're lookin at?

Between the two, I would go with the 19's. 245/40/19 vs. 235/45/18 = ~8 mm difference in sidewall. I wouldn't worry too much, unless a hard direct hit is inevitable - in which case, I'd just leave the stockers on.

Nice Choice
These are the rims I'm looking into right now. They're on backorder so I've had some time to explore other options and now I'm undecided again.

with those wheels i think gold calipers might clash a little IMO. i always liked the red & black setup, so i would go red.

as far as wheel size goes, i also live in what seems like a warzone in south carolina, but i have 19s. Like BigDankCloud said, just try to be a little more cautious when you drive to avoid potholes.

also, my car IS dropped, and the ride isn't bad with 19s and 245/40s. so i assume the ride wouldn't be bad at all if your car isn't dropped

I'm looking at a set of 19" G35 rims (19 x 8 with 225-40-19 tires and 19 x 9 with 245-40-19 tires) for my stock 2.5S coupe; will they fit, or will they cause problems??? Probably a noob question, but I've been looking for an answer on this and I haven't been able to yet...

What's the offset?

Gotta know that first.

Try this rim converter calculator - It's awesome.

They'll fit. The offsets aren't an issue. They are numerous members on here with that upgrade. What thinking about doing it myself but I can't find a set anywhere near me.

get 19s. 18s are okay but youre going to regret not getting larger wheels especially with the severe amount of fender gap we have.
