because they make your car look like a sunken battleship... offsets are too high (not low enough to be flush with your fender) for the current flushness bandwagon/hype.

from your sig, your wheels aren't close to flush either... gross... just saying

Thats what I figured. The fronts will be extended 16 mm with out spacers the rears will be extended 27 mm. With a set of spacers these will be fine. These were actually sized for the s13 when originally made in the early 90's.

16x8 +43 and 16x7.5 +38

those sizes were never meant for a 240..

i wouldn't even put those on a civic..

have new hoops made and turn them into 16x9 and 16x10 +10

that would be hot

the 16x8 are 38the styles are different now, If you look at the offsets the stocked on the s13's these would follow closely. These were made early 90'sI've already stated I would be using spacers unless someone knows where to find some barrels.

They would make a decent set of track wheels with some R compounds mounted to them.

For the sir that made the comment about "flushness bandwagon/hype," I ask you one question. Do you sincerely believe that a wheel sunken into the wheel well looks AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER than a wheel that is sitting tight on the fender? I want you to answer truthfully, but I will leave it at that.

I can understand the OP's argument of the 90s style. My last 240 coupe was zenki w/ CA and wheels that were 8/9 width wheels with mid 30s offsets. It can be pulled off and pulled off well, I just wouldn't use it as an excuse to leave poor fitting wheels on though.

All that aside, to pull it off, the car has to be EXTREMELY low to look right.

*edit - picture of said coupe

I said that into the general reaction that "you have to do xxxx to your car to make it look good".

Some people like 17x7+40 rims on their 240sx. Does it look good to me? No. Does it look good to them? If they like it, great.

Why do people generally like flushness? Performance? No. For the most part (note, I said "for the most part"), they usually have to run a thinner tire, depending on how extreme they are.

Furthermore, it is for looks. 99% of people who get lower offset rims, wider rims, etc, do it for the looks - simple as that - it's a bandwagon -> a bunch of people doing things because they (and more or less other people) do it because it "looks cooler". Before flushness, it was tucked rims, and now more or less, as flush as possible while tucking w/ a crazy huge lip or crazy concave rims w/ thin *** tires.

That being said, yes, the OP should run something more "flush and sexy" for the vert. Shoot, I myself probably have lower offset, wider rims, wider tires than most people on this forum. But do I run around saying "your wheels are crap because they are +35 instead of -12?" Not too much...

And the comment wasn't really directed at you, it was/is directed at a trend I have been seeing develop more and more in the past couple years - usually ppl w/ stock rims or cheap rims telling other people "your **** ain't flush, you're not cool".

If those ssr's are a 3 piece rim, you can get new barrels; I don't know the name of the companies that have them off the top of my head, but basically just look for rim repair shops in your area, they usually know where you can get replacement barrels & can do the labor for you.

wheel fitment is a huge factor when you own any car end of story.

and plus about my sig.....are you serious, cause if not those are stock se's that come with the car right when i got it delivered......so you have honestly lost all credibility in my book.

and for the original topic..You'll have to run mad spacers and slam the bejebus out of your car to even make it look semi decent.

I too like the flush look. I got these for $300, for the price I wasn't going to get better wheel set. I'm working on the suspension right now. I'll probably space them to around +20. If I can find new barrels will look into that.

thats a good start, barrels can get very pricey and are your 3pc able to unbolt or is it welded like the eurolines? spacers will help a lot, but you can only do so much before it looks way ridiculous ya know? but i bet you can make this biz work.

Oh come on, give me some credit here, I'm trying to see what rim you have from a tiny *** avatar pic showing about 10 pixels worth of rim.

Ok ok, I do some searching & see you have the most played out rims of all - fn's, whoop dee doo. 17x9+20 - not bad sizing, but eh, standardish. fn01rc's, yay for u, can we be bestest buddies now?

Trae, just run ur rims w/ spacers if u want. You could do barrels if u just HAVE to have the spoke design... or you can just save up and buy rims that fit your car right.

uh.........these were the first pair of wheels i've ever bought for the car and they are discontinued in that color way....and no...they are still not the ones in the avatar. They are old news...and I've had the car for a while now, it was one of the best style for cheap at the time and sizing was the best option with a 4x114.3 pattern.

but on subject......slam your car if you're gonna rock those wheels.

Nice rims. But they look bunk with thick tires. You shuold get some low profile tires. For sure. But the rims are nice.
