Picked up 2 Citations yesterday!

YAAAY!! long story short-
Cop was behind me at a light, we both were turning left-we turn.. WIGWAGS CAME ON then then usual *ERRRRRRRUP-ERUP*.. initally stopped for Modified exhaust- cop asks "what kind of exhaust u got?" lol and like a dumbass i tell him(y not right id like it too!) i "copped" a ticket. something to do with a city noise ordinance in albuquerque,idk.
then he pulls out a device with dead batteries and asks to measure my window tint. A couple new AA's later 17% driverside,17.5% passengerside.i "copped" another ticket. 20% is legal darkness,can u even tell the diffrence between 17/20% i sure cant, Super trooper i guess. and YES a verbal warning on my Tails.
i have until the 15th to show in court, ill post the outcome of that. lol and how was ur day?

So your exhaust was too loud? That's what you got the ticket for? Were you on it hard in front of him?

nope not even, it was a regular everyday acceleration from a traffic light turn.. i get a modified exhaust ticket because of some noise ordinance and u see HARLEY davidsons ripping loud fuggin throttles all day long and i have yet to see a zztop lookin dude on a bike get stopped for tht. lol!!

see if you can find somewhere that can measure the decibel (dB) output of your exhaust, then use that as evidence in court if you're going to fight it. 93dB or lower and you should be fine
as far as tint, first thing you do when you get pulled over is roll down your windows and open the cover to your sunroof, if you have one. lets more light into your car and makes your windows look lighter.

they were already down before i got stopped, he asked to roll'em up half way..and measured them s***.
naww i dont think il be fighting it, just looks like ill have to fix the tints, and FAAAK NO IM NOT CHANGING MY SWEET AZZ EXHAUST!! LOL (if i wanted WEAK sound output i would have bought the nismo or tanabe.)

if you got it measured and it was under 93db, you could continuously use that one measurement to get it dismissed in court. and the fact that he made you roll up your windows is shady...

Sounds like a cop with a slow day. Seriously, to tell the difference between 17% and 20% is probably harder than anything by sight. He must have just guessed that since you were some hotshot youngeon you must have been running illegal tints, and got lucky when he measured and got that 17% result. Frankly I have a hard time telling the difference sometimes between my front 35% and rear 15% depending on the light levels... And the exhaust thing sounds yet again, like he was looking for an excuse. I've heard worse offenders (Honda f'ing fart ricers) and just like you said, loud bikers who I'd love to trip, around my neighborhood.

Maybe where you were really did have some noise ordinance which I can understand might be a valid reason to pull you over, but I still don't get why the bikers get a pass then. Hmm...and then finding that as an excuse to check your tints.. yah sounds like an asswipe.

You can't put the Nismo Exhaust against the Tanabe. The tanabe sounds almost like a stock exhaust, it is by far the quietest aftermarket exhaust out there for us.

anyway a cousin of mine got popped for tints and he had court today, $214.00 fine for 1% tints!!!! LMAO!

i wonder how much the "modified exhaust" is guna set me back..thats a mandatory court appearance.
Tints will most likely be stripped and re-tinted, i got quoted $20 to strip $40 legal tint from a local shop whos pretty active in the "scene".just going to show proof that its been fixed when i go into metro tomorrow or friday..

The tanabe sounds almost like a stock exhaust, it is by far the quietest aftermarket exhaust out there for us.

Smog/Exhaust Referee to measure "compliance", not available in my area.i think the whole damn state-NOTHING.

anyway later this afternoon im headed to the Tint shop to get my ole ILLEGAL tints stripped and re-tinted.total should be $60 + tax. WOO!

the cop said 20% or higher is legal. but the man at the tint spot says 35%..soo maybe have them slap on a little over 20% but write on the ticket 35%.
They told me the cops get tints there all the time and ask to write 35% when its really not..hmmmm

im already in on this "got a ticket" topic! .. court order of appearance this coming tuesday! i got caught for going 14 miles over on a 45 miles *worker present* road. trooper told me he clocked me 400 yard down the highway (speed limit 70). by the time i was within oh say 100 feet of his car, i was going 20 miles an hour. why going so slow you ask? because there was traffic ahead and everyone hitting their brake (police was stationed next to the construction cones, which is the first cone placed on that highway. now, to make this story more interesting, i have a passport 8500, the thing didn't even chirp! wish me GL in court next week.

yes a speeding ticket for going 59 on a highway post 70. i hate when cops being a pig by giving out tickets like this. its obvious i'm in the process of entering the "work zone" by slowing down from 70+ to 59 (400 yard from where he said he clocked me) to 20-30 mph (before passing his parked vehicle) to 0 (about 100 after passed his vehicle, where traffic come to a complete stop). I took a video of the traffic immediately after the citation. hope that help me clear my story.

good luck man. my bro got a bs ticket when had driven my car. reg limit is 50. and he was doing limit, and cop pulled him over for speeding... said there were says all down the road saying it was 30/40 something cuz of construction... which was s***, because where he pulled out at there were NO signs for 100 feet in each direction... bro didnt wanna spend time fighting it so he just paid it... stupid pigs

If your windows were down while driving you shouldn't get a ticket for that, at least it's that way here in California. It's a moving violation, so you could have your windows pitch black as long as they are not up while driving.

Tints fixed!
they were 20% i was told at the shop, eff it. anyway heres the NEW LEEEGAL 35% tints!

Slightly lighter, it still looks dark with doors closed and looking at it from the outside-BUT ITS LEGAL (we did get the a/c brandnew from the dealer with 20% tints).

welp i just found a shop thats guna WRITE me a "returned to stock" receipt (mufflers,gaskets, labor) discretion so i cant reveal who it is! BUT IM GLAD THEY CAME THRU FOR A FELLOW TOONER! lol
-so im going to take these receipts and SLAM'EM ON the counter at metro court on monday and BEEEE ONNNN MYYYY WAAAAY!!

I've run dark tints before, but honestly when I left FL for GA, I had my 240 tinted legal..lifetime warranty on legal tints and no cop worries. But there's a reason the SE states are so great ^_^..so many cops just don't care about enforcing such laws..

i faxed the citations along with the Window tint & exhaust receipts(showing "proof" that its fixed) to the Judge assigned to me yesterday. and this morning i got a call from the Judges' Secretary,... DISMISSSED!!! WOOHOO! funny thing is..i still hav my complete "Modified Exhaust" intact and untouched!! hahaha!

Well I went to the court last night.. I was not so lucky. I waS found guilty going 57 400 yards before entering a work zone. Have to pay $450 and 4 points.
