Well if a siezed engine is indeed the case, that would really be unfortunate.
If the first dealership gave it a tune up and an oil change, it seems a bit unlikely as the VQ35 engine is regarded to be pretty much bulletproof.
Did the second dealership drain the oil? Can you ask how much was in there? It should be close to 5qts at full capacity. If you had far less than that, you might have been in the danger zone. Some VQ35HR engines have an oil consumption issue, so if this particular engine was an especially oil hungery version that might also have been the reason.
There almost certainly would have been warning signs though, usually engines start to act funny when low on oil, I've been told it's hard to describe, but it's far from the "normal" feel. Also the low oil pressure light should have come on.
I don't know, I'd do some more digging, either way, it sounds like some one lied to you. Although, I personally would have checked the oil fairly often in the beginning just to make sure everything seemed right.
