Brake booster vacuum hose. What all do you need to know?

??? what about it?check my sig, FSM will have vacume diagrams to the engine bay, you should be able to figure out what hose it is from that.

it has a tear and when its open my car wants to turn off and when its closed it runs fine

k...do you want to ask a questionat any point ? or you got what you need? That hose supplies vacume to your brake booster, do you still have power brakes?

yea i figured it had to do with the brakes ,why does it affect the motor?

It creates what is called a vacuum leak. It lets air into the intake which didn't pass through the MAF and therefore the ECU doesn't know to add fuel for it. It leans out the engine, causing poor running or stalling depending on the severity of the leak. Replace the hose as soon as you can. If it should happen to tear wide open while you're tring to brake.... bad news!
