I currently run on RS*R race springs (-1.5")and Koni yellows. I love this setup, and dont want to change it. I have 15" wheels, and have been thinking of getting 17's with 5 lug conversion. I am just concerned that there will be too much wheel gap. Please post pics of your car with lower springs and 17" wheels. Tell me your drop and your wheel/tire specs. I want to get an idea of what I can expect.

here's my first s13 (around 2002ish) with tanabe gf210 springs with oem struts. I think it was about a 1.4" drop, not sure and don't remember. the wheels were 5zigen fn01rc's in 17x7 +42 (i know, i know) w/ 205-45-17 sized tires.

its not the best picture but here it is.

Here's a good question: Who here regrets installing their strut/spring setups instead of just going with coils in the first place?

I certainly dont. But I think that getting that flush look with 17's is only able to be accomplished with coils from what I am guessing. If thats they way it is, I'll just stick with my 15's.

Not exactly. This isn't about being flush, but about wheel gap (two closely related but different things). In your opening post, you said "I am just concerned that there will be too much wheel gap."

Any s13 spring/strut setup you pick will leave you with around 2 or 3 finger widths of wheel gap. If that acceptable to you, have at it. Just an fyi...
