Where/How did you mount your sleepy eye switch? I want to put one in,but I want to keep everything clean...NO switches on dangling wires or something like that.

do the free quick sleepy eye mod. all it includes is cuttin a wire and no need for extra switches. someone did a writeup on here about it. it works great, seriously shouldn't take longer than like 2 mins.

i recently put in a switch for my amp subs in the remote turn on wire so i can switch them off right in the drivers seat when changing cds or songs. anyway, i also didnt want any switches showing so i put it inside of the console. right under your right arm where you lift up the door, it has the shallow part and then the deep part. there are two holes already made in the shallow part on the wall that faces the shifter. it fits those small metal toggle switches very nicely, just take the collar off the switch, pop it through, and screw the collar back on. viola! you never know its there!

OK Cheap sleepy eye mod -

- Get a toggle switch (or im my case, a push button)- Get some extra wire- Drop ur lower driver's side dash- Pull/pop out your cruise light switch (pop up button)- Behind the harness plug there will be one pale green wire- Snip the wire with enough room on both sides (meaning DO NOT cut the wire at the harness!)- Now, with extra wire, connect both ends to the switch/button- Drill a small hole into your lower dash that you took off earlier.- Install switch/button to hole you made- Put car back together- Now (with the switch off if you chose a toggle switch) push your cruise light button so that the lights are flipped up. When you push the button again to the off postiton, the ligths should still be up. Now adjust the lights with the switch/button you installed till desired position.- Enjoy!

*NOTE: It is common for the lights not to fall evenly. If so, pop open your hood and pop the cap off the motor revealing a knob. Now twist the knob till they're even. I know it's annoying but that what you get for the cheap way unless you want to spend $60-$100 for the axtual pivot kit. I'd advise not to pull up on ur headlight to even them out. It will make the light a little loose when flipped up fully (trust me I know).

Now originally I used a toggle switch but found it annoying to switch it on and off to adjust the height of the lazy eyes. So the solution was just buying a push button instead and it works 10 time better in my eyes. Not only that, it hides better than a toggle switch.

See, you don't see a switch at all but, it's there under the lower dash panel.

regarding lazy eye. I did it for free. Just pop out the button that controls lights to go up or down without turning them on. Cut the two bottom most wires. I believe one is brown??? Your done. Play with it a little. When the button is active you should be able to turn your lights on and when you turn them off they will stay popped up. now tap the switch a few times stopping the lights were you want them. simple.

I posted this a while back. An abridged version of a how-to.

I put my 2 toggles in that little pice on my dash that pops out. It's on the right side of the wheel. I have one for my lights and another for my one fan. Looks good where it's located. I can get pics if you guys want.

You can also turn your headlights on then have you hand on the motor fuse in the driver side kick panel. As the lights are going down pull the fuse. It takes a couple tries to get it were you want it but it works. When you turn on your brights the headlights popup all the way.

you dont need any extra wires or buttons or anything!!! i was really skeptical too but all you have to do is cut the brown wire. TRUST ME, IT WORKS AND ITS FREE! what more could you ask for?

cutting the brown is definitely the way to go, took less than a minute, works great. only downfall I see is not being able to have the lights on while in "sleepy" mode. do any other kits let you keep the lights on?

The way I did it you can have the lights on while in sleepy mode(only way you can do sleepy eyes). I don't like the lights up at all when they're off, so I wired it so sleepy is only when the lights are on.

sorry to highjack the forum, but......

Treyz, how did you get the plastic cover that goes around the headlight buttons, and is right below the gauge cluster off?

I'm interested in painting mine like you did, just a different color.

Ghettokracker71 - The reason why i had cut the pale green wire is cuz of the fact that yes i have sleepy eyes during the day, but when i turn on my headlights, they flip up all the way like they normally do. Then when i turn them off, i just simply reset my sleepy eyes with the push button i installed...what does it cost like $3 for the switch.. it's not like ur paying $60.

Also, no need to get defensive about UTWarrenG's post. he just asked a quick q.

UTWarrenG - Basically take the lower dash off like i stated before (10mm)...take out the two screws above (philips)...then under the steering column there will be two 14mm bolts to take out the drop it...then it'll come out easily. (BTW u need to take out the plastic housing from the steering column before u can get to the 14mm)
