Can someone show me a pic of their SR wiring harness for the ignition power, should be a thick blue/red stripe wire spliced into I believe a thick black/red striped wire.

AmoebAssassin wrote:Issue #3: Too many wires coming together at splicing of Black/Red and Blue/RedFinally, again below figure 5 they mention to connect the blue/red and black/red on the SR harness to the black/red wire on the KA plug pigtail. My harness had two blue/red wires. I looked up the ECU pinouts and one of them was coilpack power, and the other was ignitor power. Logically all these need +12V switched, which is what the black/red on the chassis harness provides, however connecting the extra blue/red would make this a four wire junction, not a 3 wire junction as indicated by the writeup.

Solution to Issue #3Going against the writeup, I hooked up both of the two SR engine harness blue/reds to the SR engine harness black/red, and then all three of these to the KA chassis plug pigtail black/red. This gave me a four-wire junction, wheras the article implies a three-wire junction. Do not be worried, this is how it should be.
i unfortunately don't have any pics on my photobucket or photopost accounts of the plug in question. I don't think I have one on my home computer as my harness isn't an SR harness, so I never had to play with that chassis plug.

But so long as you tap the Blue/red wire into the Black/red wire you should be alright.

Well my issue is here. I asked and some people told me that my wires were wrong. They said the thin red/black wire was wrong and had to go to a THICK red/black wire.

+1 for soldering. When you're dealing with voltage supplies for critical components, you should always solder.

Second, that's a Red/black wire. The Black/red is a very thick wire, and I can see it behind the electrical tape wrapping in your last picture.

I agree with fast_s13 in that you're splicing in the wrong areas. The area where you should be concerned with the voltage supply wires is at the chassis -> EFI plug up near the battery and fuse box. There's a big brown and grey plug up there. Nissan has a standard for what color wire does what, but not where each wire goes in a pinout. So just take your plugs and start moving the pins around to get them to match up.

Yea I got it fixed, the reason the wires were up there is because I basically took off ALL the loom from the harness to expose the wires but I switched the thin black/red wire to the thick one and BAM, works like a charm

That's not a thin Black/red wire. It was a thin Red/Black. It's primarily red with a black stripe.
