Maybe im dumb but every time I put a engine in a car , it was the stock one . Im currently doing a rb20 swap in my 91 hatch , so I ordered Mckinney mount and im not really sure if I need ka mount with them ? Same thing for the rb mount , I keep only the brackets that bolt right on the block ? Sorry for the bad english !

you dont need the ka mounts or the rb mounts just the mounts that are on the side of the rb.

Its that easy , I bolt it on the xmembers , then I drill a hole on the front of the mount and put a second bolt through it and its done ...? ok then !

Drill a hole? I didn't think you had to drill anything for those mounts.

mack's directions say you're supposed to drill a hole into the front of the x-member AFTER your motor is seated properly. to mount the motor you don't need to drill anything. it's after everything is situated, you drill one hole per side as additional support for the mount.

I bought these mounts for my rb20 and dropped it in not to long ago.PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DRILL INTO THE CROSSMEMBER B4 U LOWER THE CAR.otherwise, its to much stress on them and the mount itself (rubber part) will split apart!!Also, make sure u pound out the firewall enough for the starter, i didnt and had to really mod some stuff up to get everything in right.

Wow I never noticed that, but the McKinney mounts are of wayyy better design than the Core Performance. I see now that you were talking about drilling a hole on the FRONT of the crossmember for a bolt to create some additional moment resistance. The only way the Core Performance mounts would even come close would be if they were welded like someone else mentioned above...Damn I wish I would have spent the money for McKinney now. Maybe I can retrofit something with similar this winter by drilling a hole in the Core mounts for a bolt??

Yeah they seem to be stronger once installed than the core. Right now the engine is sitting on the mount , I still have to drill the xmember and the installation will be done . I had to remove the super hicas lines ,its the probably the main reason why I had a hard time trying to bolt the mount. They dont clear the hard lines at all. Also , its a good thing 240sxintx told me to pound the firewall , the starter hump on the transmission is almost touching even with the dent I made. Ill keep you update on the wiring part ! thanks again !

Last thing I would like to know , if I dont have time to finish everything before the warranty end on my engine , is there somthing I could skip for now , like dash wiring , or does the ecu need to read the cluster to do his job.

the ecu does not need the cluster for anything.
