I haven't pulled but 4 valve covers in my life so I thought I'd post this up for others to diagnose for me.

I'm basically just curious how "things look in there."

I bought the car with 72k 3 years ago, have 182k on it now. I have done all Mobil1 Synth since then, RARELY going to 5k between changes, 95% of the time between 3k and 3.5k.

Thanks ship! Makes me feel good to read that. With 182k on her, I think she's got alot of juice left in her with proper maintenance.

Can't wait until this is done (getting final parts on Wednesday)....plenum pulled and cleaned, intake manifold cleaned, new KS's, egr cleaned, new o2 sensor, cleaned TB, (might) change spark plugs again....she'll feel like a v8 again!

The VH motors are long term players if properly maintained, mine with 227,400 miles feels like new and uses less than 1/2 quart of oil in 5,000 miles.

Mine doesn't burn a single drop of oil in 15,000 miles. Went to top it off but became so proud I did a whole oil+filter change.

I'll go with frequent M1 changes as mine looks the same on all 3 at 120K -66K.
