Sorry to jack the post but I was wondering how you do that with photoshop? Do you use the "replace color" feature or what?

i have been working in photoshop and the like for about 10 years now since Adobe first started making the program, i am to say the least VERY photoshop savy.

but in short it was easy, two layers for the colour, one black, one grey, if i remmeber the black one was on top and set to 100% overlay,a nd the second was the grey set to 60% multiply, the reason for ther black overlay is to keep the reflections etc... and the multiply to get the colour to saturate etc.. then lots of other little touches and alyers etc... but most important is to draw the path around the body of the car carefully etc.... but other than that it is easy..

why don't you just select the whole car with the magnetic wand selection tool, and then do hue and sateration? Works like a charm everytime for me.

or you could make your selection (paths, lasso, quick mask, whatever) and use the "color" mode to paint the pixels a different color in a separate layer. . . this method will work better with darker colors as "color" mode needs pixels to actually change a color. . . white (or other light colors) usually must be burned (burn tool) to make this method work better. ..

Looks good. . I dig that color. . you should get an OEM color, so you can find paint for it later on. . (that olive color from Chrysler comes to mind). .

I want to paint my car northstar white (mitsi). . kinda. . VERY VERY light grey. . looks white, well is white. . but u get the idea =)

damn, you guys should do my car. I need to figure out what color to paint it. I was thinking sort of a deep blue. not too light, almost midnight blue, but blue enough that you can tell it's blue at night. mine's a stock hatchback by the way.
