So I started working on the car tonight, more plans for 2011. I took apart the front wheels and I am toying with two subtle ideas, and one not so subtle.

First idea... Wheels restored factory finish no PS needed
Second.... Wheels to factory finish, but with the center nut anodized purple
Third.... Outer section polished as factory, but the center anodized purple.

Photo to work with. Thanks

Hmmm I dunno maybe a darker shade of and purple. The center nut would still be silver, not sure if I like it.

I think a darker shade would look so good. It'd be a nice change kev. Then if you wanted do the bolts all purple too for a nice little touch.

I'm going to a 205 in the front from 225-45-17 and I am going to space them out some, keeping 275's in the rear, but I need to roll the quarters more. Rears fit great granted it a a 17x9 +35 but thats because I need a lot of tire, 275's are too small as is.

The deal on the wheels is that they are old school, and I have only seen one other pair in person, and two pair for sale online but they were 4 lug 16x7's.

Lower no way..... Clearance is low under the car, and I build this car to go fast, not ducking and weaving 24/7

Looking at the cube pic.... that shade with the chrome bolts might look awesome.

I go through the same crap, thinking something needs change, only to leave it alone as it was only a thought. #1 .... restore them and leave them alone. Nice clean look; no Fast & Furious. :dblthumb:

Yeah I'm thinking so.... 20 year old Volks, no need to mess with them, just bring them back to their golden day because they are pretty nasty.

You are the man. :) Looking forward to seeing the new changes/ideas for 2011. If I can only get back on track financially I'll be doing a few things too. Just do us a favor ... don't get old, have a family, get divorced, start another family and for Godsake EVER payoff a house and add onto it to move in your son from the first marrage. :chuckle:

Ended up going with "Super Chrome with UV clear"
So its a high shine silver almost chrome, but not quite.

Nah they are at the powder coater now along with a differential cover. The wheels were curbed pretty good when I got them, I fixed them as best as I could which looks a million times better. It's going to be nice seeing these wheels come back to life. I am going to get a tumbler and polish the bolts all 120 of them.

Diff cover is anodized purple

purple center nut with purple hardware would be ill, but taking out all those bolts just to do it kinda makes it not worth the effort.

But purple hardware would look sick.

Yeah but jigging, blasting and coating 120 bolt heads takes forever and would have cost a mint. They came out so good, A step back to 1993,.
