Attached is a dyno run from last year (2004)with my old HKS camshafts and this year(2005) with an nternally stock CA18DET.

This pull was one of the ones done last year before I refreshened (with block still in car) my 3 year old stock CA18DET with HKS 264 duration w/8.5mm lift camshafts. For some reason this engine puffed a lot of white smoke even on the dyno, but never once mixed the oil and water.

This pull was done with conservative timing after battling with a faulty fuel pressure regulator. All of us were at peace when we saw the A/F ratio. This was also done on 12-13psi of boost.

This pull was done on 12-13psi of boost as well with engine temperatures getting a bit erratic (leaking heater hose).

This pull was done at 20psi solid. Engine is still a bit warm, but I didn't care.

And this is a picture of where the car stands today. I will take it to the track, run it, and tear the engine down and install the goodies to included ported head, excellent reground cams, dual racing valve springs, CP pistons, ARP head studs, and NISMO 1.2mm headgasket.

Holy crap, those HKS cams made all the difference in the world. Which ones were they? The dyno run w/the HKS cams is exactly what I want my powerband to look like. I won't have the dough for that till afte the motor is though. Should be later this year...

Dee, what did you have on the motor for the 2004 run, other than the camshafts.

I like the look of the dyno curve but I'd rather make my power starting lower and make less total power.. granted that won't show what it's like on the street, since you have to get to the dynoing gear and that doesn't lead to optimal down-low power at the start of the pull.. such is life

and yeah that 2nd one, flattest AFR EVAR!

Wow, the cams made a huge difference, and the first graph was with the t04b compressor, right? Was it also .48 a/r turbine? Are you doing this on pump gas? So many questions, sorry, but I'm taking out a loan of some type to spend some money on the ca and I need to do it before the lease on my other car runs out in april. Well, it needs to be put together and running reliably before april.

This pull was one of the ones done last year before I refreshened (with block still in car) my 3 year old stock CA18DET with HKS 264 duration w/8.5mm lift camshafts and turbocharger is a T3/T04E stage III with .60 A/R and a .48 rear housing. For some reason this engine puffed a lot of white smoke even on the dyno, but never once mixed the oil and water.

This pull was done with conservative timing after battling with a faulty fuel pressure regulator. All of us were at peace when we saw the A/F ratio. This was also done on 12-13psi of boost with T3/T04E stage III hybrid with a special wheel that I won't reveal just yet, but soon. With the new wheel, the car stays on boost with a quick gear change from 2 to 3rd from 3rd to 4th and pulls happily in 5th. With the wicked gear ratio, 6500rpm, the car was already doing better than 150mph on the rollers, but the lean condition from the bad FPR prohibited me from going further.

All pics are now narrated and most questions should've gotten answered. Since I'm off from work today, I probably will go out on the highway where it's open and try and tune this boost controller past 20 psi. Then hopefully, get the car to the track maybe tonight or tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Oh yeah, the turbo
