I would love to see the pics, where are they. I test drove a Subaru Outback the other day with similar features and it looked very classy.

That's a sweet look! So did you had your custom work to your insurance? I was just wondering how that worked out if an MVC occurred?

Also I would wait until the recall for the passenger airbag sensor is resolved. The fix is to change the bottom passenger seat out. I assume that includes the cover and all but it is not clear in the info below.

From the NHTSA website:Quote » Make / Models : Model/Build Years: INFINITI / EX35 2007-2008INFINITI / G35 SEDAN 2007-2008INFINITI / G37 2007-2008NISSAN / 350Z 2007-2008NISSAN / ALTIMA 2007-2008NISSAN / MURANO 2007-2008NISSAN / ROGUE 2007-2008Recall Number: 08V521000Summary: NISSAN IS RECALLING 204,361 MY 2007-2008 ALTIMA, ALTIMA COUPE, 350Z, MURANO, ROGUE; AND INFINITI G35 SEDAN, G37 COUPE AND EX35 PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS' OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) CONTROL UNITS. A VARISTOR IN THE OCS CONTROL UNIT LOCATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATION. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD CAUSE AN INTERRUPTION OF SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU).Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN THE PASSENGER AIR BAG BEING SUPPRESSED WHICH COULD FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.Remedy: DEALERS WILL TEST THE SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND ACU SYSTEMS USING A SPECIAL TOOL TO CHECK THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. IF NECESSARY, THE SEAT CUSHION (CONTAINING OCS HARDWARE) WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE MANUFACTURED TO SPECIFICATION. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 3, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261 OR INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.Notes: CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

I don't know if the leather is better but the cost was better than the leather package from the dealer. The cost for leather and installation was $1100.

I had the seats done before the recall was announced.

thanks for the info. Just to be sure, starting Nov 3rd, do we have to contact the dealer for appointment to bring the car in for testing? or dealer will contact the owner? thank you.

It looks great! We're going to put leather in sometime in the next few months. How much extra padding did they put in the armrest and what did they use? I wouldn't mind a little extra padding there.

metfan22, I fixed your link to the first pic and added the rest of the photos from your library.

There are instructions in the FAQ (link is in menu bar above) on how to post pictures:

Thanks for linking the photos. I ordered the leather seat covers from autotrimllc.com I had the mirror installed and it took about an hour. I ordered it from ebay Wembley Sells. He willing to change the color to amber if you ask. I asked the installer to add more padding for the armrest ,he did the rest. I don't know what materials he used but I can call and ask for you. I added a chrome grill and rear spoiler today and they both look great. I will add all the work to my insurance and I will go to the dealer to see what I can do about the recall for airbag sensor for the passenger seat.

I love the leather work that you had done. I would love to get my name in the arm rest. I already have black leather in my Rogue. I wonder if I can get it done.

I ordered the seats covers from autotrimllc.com I had them installed by a local upholster in brooklyn. I'm pretty sure you can have your arm rest done. Call auto upholsterers and ask if they can do embroidery and addtional padding.

Oh nice your right in Brooklyn, I live in Suffolk County on Long Island. I love that your name is Metfan...Im also a huge Met fan although they let me down once again this year at the end. I will have to look into the auto upholstery place. I also know a leather guy out here that strictly does leather work on cars. He actually worked at Unique Autosports (that show that is on tv) doing the interior leather for the cars. I will have to see how much it will cost. I think the embroidery would be so nice in my car!!!

Thanks Metfan!!!

Where did you get the wood dash kit from? I would like to get one in aluminum. There are a few on e-bay, but I really have to question the quality.

Your car looks gorgeous, bro!

I would really love to start getting some Rogue meets started some time as we build sufficient mass of owners in and around NYC. Let me know your thoughts and maybe we can try to get something going for spring time! It would be so much fun! I used to do LOTS of meets with my Scion!
