Seller must have been valedictorian of "Type like a scammer" class.

If it's legit, it would be an okay deal. OEM comes with a hood, which seller doesn't include in his listing, and brand new price is only $70 more.

thanks bro

I just spoke to the guy, hes foreign so that could explain the interesting wording.

He said I could go and use it before I buy it. Ill offer him 400 just to see if he takes it

I just dont know if its worth the extra cheese for the Image Stabilization

Can't say about the IS -- never tried it. I do know that my Digital Rebel is *awful* at blurring if the shutter speed is at all reduced, especially on long shots. Unless you are planning to take candids or need ultra compact portability, a good tripod is just as effective and a lot cheaper.

the kit lens 75-300(IIRC) is pretty good if you just want something to shoot distance with. I shot this with it last year, I think it turned out good for a $150 craigslist lens

70-200mm lenses are nice, regardless if it's an f2.8 or f4. But a non-IS zoom lens is not very useful IMO. It could only be used indoors with a tripod, or off hand outside with sunlight. But maybe that's how you always shoot and could then save money getting the non-IS version. I think out of the 20k or so pictures I've taken, less then 100 have been with a tripod.

Price wise, it's too high.

These were all taken with type 2 IS, used for panning. And no post processing, because I suck at photochop. But, not the 70-200 F/4, it was the 100-400 F/4.5-5.6.

If you can get it for $400 it would be a sweet deal.
$500-550 is how much they are fetching in the used market.

What are you planing on using it for?
