looks great! how much improvment to overall lighting of the roadway have you experienced? I have toyed with the idea of doing this upgrade, but have not gathered enough info to pull the trigger-who made your system?is it a bi-zenon kit converting both high and low beams?

Thanks for the compliments guys I got the conversion kit from eBay about 3-4 months ago and it works great, no voltage problems or what so ever. It is not Bi-Xenon so high-beams are disabled, Bi-Xenon kits are so expensive! The lamps are adjusted to factory standard and it doesn't blind oncoming drivers at all, remember our cars are lowered... instead, I was blinded by lot of oncoming SUVs and some idiots with high beams on... Here's the pic of the kit I bought.

Lower and a littel firmer, progressive all around instead of just fronts.

Do you worry about getting stopped for illegal equipment? My understanding is that all aftermarket HID kits are not street legal in the US. Not saying that would stop me - hopefully my lack of LED washer nozzles, 20" spinners, coffee can exhaust, LED valve stem caps, etc. would keep me from beeing too much of a target either way. Has anyone here ever heard of someone getting stopped and ticketed for HID kits?

How woudl they ever know if it came factory or not?? I mean, they coudl still stop you and figure it out (you could always hide stuff to make it look stock) but how would they not stop every car with HIDs?

Well, one advantage of having a very shiny uncommon car - is that most cops on the street probably don't know when it was built without running the plates, and at that point they'd have to be behind me (we don't have front plates in SC). I think HID was introduced around 1997?

I'd think the ballasts can be hidden behind the Headlamp assemblies under the plastic covers. My guess is that the glare, from using non-HID enclsoures with HID retrofit bulbs, would have to be bad enough to attract the attention of the officer. Hopefully, I would be able to lower the aim somewhat to get it to an acceptable level.

I was just curious if anyone has ever heard of someone being ticketed for this?

I would say that 8000K is almost illegal in color aspect, because you're not supposed to have blue tinted bulb on your car, but actually the HID bulbs are not tinted bulbs, they're clear bulbs. Cops don't really care as long as they're white beams (like around 5000K ~ 6000K range), unless you equip these stuff on cheaper cars (can I say Hondas?? ).As far as I remember, the guy who installed HID mounted the ballasts and other stuffs inside my front bumper to make it look clean, and besides we have black plastic cover on top of the headlamp housing isn't? I don't think the officers would ask you to remove the cover just to look inside

Price???

Looks great.... I'd probably have a harder time getting away with it on my 90' though... no grill so it looks a bit more dated.

I wonder what the Amperage is on these things. Do you still have the box...can you read off the specs?
