The glove box is just the right size for the phonograph player! Does anyone remember these from the 1950’s? I could listen to all my old 45’s again.

Wow... I'll bet these sounded real good traveling down the road. NOT!

Obviously these were intended for use during periods of long term parking, (i.e. watching submarine races at the lake, lovers lane etc.) After all Chryslers were wide body cars and had enormous back seats.

I think we can count on seeing these come back in style... about the same time all women start wearing gloves again when they go out for the evening. I'll admit I can remember the time when all women wore evening gloves, which is the same time period when "all" men wore Feroras (hats). However I don't ever recall seeing one of these. Then again I was a little kid and my parents didn't have a lot of money. Now 8-Tracks players... that's another issue!

In 1966 my father won a brand new Mustang in a raffle where he worked. It had a factory installed 8 Track.

I thought we had the coolest car in town... but it was short lived. My father sold the car 3 days later. Said our 59 Impala was still a good car and the money was more important. I was crushed I went from one of the coolest kids on the block... back to mister nobody.

Cool, perfect for this DeeJay.From the Consumer Reports archives:Car Record Players, 1961

The needle of the Norelco Auto Mignon stays in the groove of our 45s, even when we drive over rough roads. But since there's no record changer, we must insert each record we want to play, then remove it when the song is over.
