I have an 08 G35X and can't get the phone system to save the voice tags in the phone book. It will save the item numbers but not the names for the phone numbers. I took it into the dealer and they don't know either. Any ideas?

Also, is there a way to search for albums while driving in the music box other than by mood of music?

Thanks,

codriver

If you can't save the voice tags then to me the dealer needs to fix that. That sounds like a problem that should be a warranty item.

As far as searching albums I believe you would need to make a modification that senses speed in order to do so. You can see this when you speed up or slow down while on the menus. To me it seems to be around the 4 mph mark or so in my car.

This has always seemed odd to me, not so much that they would do this for safety reasons but from the stand point that you have so much more in the way of options available from a connected iPod.

I find it more unsafe to try to do a work around via the remaining menu options for the various functions disabled while driving.

With the voice activation however you do have more functions available to you. To me they are not necessarily a good replacement.

I hate to beat a but section 4 of the Big Book covers many of the advanced features. Until today I had yet to read the technical sections about the voice activation.

Even if you have read that before going through it after using it for a little while is a great refreshers. I had no idea that the system was that intuitive.

Here is a list of the voice commands that you can use to select different Music Box functions.

When I first bought my car, it had trouble understanding me. I told my salesman that I needed voice command Southern edition.
