1992 nissan 240sx ka24deHi,Problem started when I left my new phone car charger in for a couple of hours after I turned off my car.Came back battery was dead. Got a jump and was on my way. Came back went to bed, next morning batt. dead. So basically each time I start my car I need a jump. Even when I run it for 30 min. or so to recharge battery. Most conclude it's my alternator (my car has turned off twice in 8 months while driving, turns back on,after car wash(duh, water on alt.), and in a turn). So it fires up after I jump it then drains. Hoping it's just the battery, and not the alternator. It's turned off a time or two after I started it,seafoam fixed it. Searched and it seems pretty vague. Don't want to go to a shop yet. "you need a new alternator" regardless of outcome,is what they'll probably tell me.Thanks,[email protected]

Well if your battery wasn't getting charged, it's gonna be your alternator. Have it jumped and see if it can keep going with the jumper off after a couple of minutes. If not, you're screwed with a bad alternator. You could also just have alot of crap on the terminals as well. Clean those up.

well when i had dirty terminals, my car just wouldnt turn over. i would hear the first click, then nothing at all. i had to clean my terminals twice now. go get your battery tested at the shop, i believe they do this for free. all you need to do is bring you battery in. if that fails, have fun with a new alternator.
