I've been driving my Q for about four weeks now and I've gotta do something about a phone charger. Driving down the road with my ashtray open and this big charger sticking up there looks so tacky. Granted I drove my J like that for years, but I want to do something about it in the Q before I get used to it.

Wanting to preserve the stock appearance, I was thinking that if I could run power under the console and just have a little cord coming out from under the console on the driver's side it could fall down between the seats when not in use and be almost hidden. This would prevent making a hole or somethign somewhere.

Has anyone done this or an alternate solution? How would I do it? :help

As a side note, the 2003 M45 (and I think the new Q45's as well) have a power plug in the center console compartment for just such a reason. Cool! :)

It's just like the drink holder, they didn't have it on the older models. Many aspects of the Qs were ready for the 21st century, but not cell phone use.

I installed a full car kit- power and antenna connect automatically. It's just CDMA and AMPS. Also has mic and speaker (mic at the headliner, wire hidden down post, behind dask...speaker under passenger foot well. ) Cradle attached to the center console/tunnel just to the right of the shifter. Grabs power from the cigarette lighter circuit.
