Looking for a good mechanic for my 01 qx4, my check engine light came on and don't wanna pay 120$ at the dealership just to have them give me the code.

Go to an autozone, they will plug into your truck and tell you the codes and print out a list of possible problems and suggested solutions. And its free, atleast around here.

Get the codes and search the codes online for further info.

Buy a code reader, it's a very smart investment.

One more thing: When you get the codes read out, get the numeric code. It will be something like P0123. The codes greater than P0999 are vehicle-specific and AutoZone etc. will often give you the Chevy or Ford or whatever meaning, which is NOT the same as the Nissan meaning. Please report the code back here and we'll help.
