Phoenix, AZ All-Nissan Meet / BBQSponsored by Southwest AutoworksSunday, May 4, 2003 11am- 5pm
Sunday was an incredibly perfect 85 degree day in North Phoenix. The turnout for the All-Nissan Meet was fantastic, with an estimated 125 vehicles making an appearance. Southwest Autoworks provided endless burgers and hot dogs, and several attendees brought coolers of drinks. All models of Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti vehicles were present, and numerous clubs turned out in force. Velocity (a Spec-V club), G20.net, Altimas.net, NICO, AZ240sx.org, Maxima.net(?), Arizona Z-car, and SR20performance.com were among those representing. I took lots of pictures, and will be posting them here very soon.
Among the highlights of the show: A heavily-modded new metallic blue 350Z with color-matched wheels and a huge carbon-fiber wing, fresh from an autocross competition. A clean, 50th Anniversary 280ZX turbo with new 350Z rims. A super-clean ‘97 240 with the factory lip and the most perfect green factory paint you’ve seen. A KA-powered (turbo) 240sx with the most exotic suspension setup I’ve EVER witnessed (WOW). Several SR-swapped 240sx’s, a couple pristine Ivory Pearl Quartz Q45’s (my 95 and GaryB’s 92), a whole ROW of modded SpecV’s, several clean, modded 2000+ Maximas, a couple modded G20’s, Terry V’s (Tgvince) prototype CAI for the ’97-01 Q45, a swapped HardBody pickup with a turbo’ed SR, and several others I’m sure I neglected to mention.

I'm in pic # 931 (in the blue cap).
I got a chance to meet Alexandar Jovicich of Southwest Autoworks, a local shop that specializes in aftermarket parts for Nissans. He was real interested in what we’re doing here in NICO-land, and was surprised to learn of how big we’ve become. He offered to beat any other shops’ prices on Nissan aftermarket parts for NICO members, and can be reached at (602) 795-1800 or

I also spent some time talking with Louis Anaya, founder of
http://www.SR20performance.com . Louis is incredibly knowledgeable about the SR20DE/DET and has some awesome goodies for these motors. He has been invited to pop in and check out NICO, and welcomes all SR20 owners to check out his site.
A special thanks to Jerry, Paul, John, Oliver, and ‘whitebunny’ from
http://www.AZ240sx.org for making me feel welcome, teaching me a little about the 240sx and introducing me around. Thanks again guys!!!
