Some impressions.
Audi: Had a prototype A8L on display, set up as a mini limo. Niiiiice. Reclining rear seats with air/heat/massage, rear power moon roof, individul climate control/stereo/dvd w// screen. This was not "pimp my ride" stuff, it was factory and nicely appointed.
Nissan: had a GTR but once again kept it locked. I finally sat in a Leaf. I was surprised how roomy and well laid out it was.
Chevy: I sat in a volt. Though I like GM's hybrid more, the Leaf seemed better made.
Infiniti: I sat in the gigantic QX. My gosh that is one big ugly looking SUV, but it's extremely nice on the inside.
Toyota: sat in the new Camry. better looking than before but still kinda boring
Scion: Did not have an FRS on display but they did have an IQ (mini car) on hand that I sat in. I was pleasantly surprised. Wider and not quite as claustrophobic as a Smart. Cure little thing.
Jeep: What shocked me were the sticker prices. Yow! A 4 door wrangler, with one of several of those silly special editions, stickered for over $45K!, A sahara, which hasn't changed much was $35K. Not worth it.
Chrysler. They freshened up the 300 a bit, the interior looks nice though they still use pretty cheap materials.
Fiat: sat in an 500 Abarth. Neat little car, but the gearbox felt mushy. Not sure I'd buy one.
Lexus: they had a beat up yellow LSF on display. It was a demo that had gotten some severe track use. The rotors looked pretty beat and the worn tires had plenty of armor all on them. I think I'd buy 3 Audi R8 V-10's for what Toyota wants for that LFA. But Lexus did have the hottest spokesmodels. Plunging neckline mini dresses FTW.
Subie: Had a BRZ on display but it was roped off.
Caddy: Had an ATS on the roundtable but none to sit in. It looked nice but it's pretty small. I did sit in a CTS-V, and didn't mind it, but I didn;t think it was worth the $72K on the sticker
Fisker: Had two Karma's on display. They were roped off, but the sales dude was not impressive,
Honda: no real surprises, though curiously had no CR-Z. I did sit in a new insight and was unimpressed.
Mitsubishi: I sat in a Miev, (electric vehicle) which was very quirky. The right windshield wiper is perpendicular to the driver's wiper. Kinda weird. I also sat in their newest EVO. Very spartan, but at least it comes with cruise control now.
The antique/classic cars were very good this year. There was a drop dead gorgeous Delage, Ford Model K roadster, a Porsche 959, The Simeone museum (Race car museum) sent over a half dozen cars including a Ferrari 250LM, and an original Mercer Raceablout. Nice vehicles.
FC Kerbeck, the Philly area Rolls,Bentley, Aston Martin, Lambo, dealer decided to show white cars only. Everything was white, really kinda it boring, though the Aventador is quite flashy.A bit many angles for my taste but it's an impressive looking car. They also supplied a last generation Countach with the big ugly bumpers. Looked dated.
LandRover: Got to sit in an Evoque. Very nice but a bit cramped.
There was also an interesting area of converted Mercedes Sprinter vans made up into mini-motor homes. Amazing how much they cram into those vans.
The show is worth visiting this year. If you live in the area, I recommend stopping there.
