I checked his clip out today when I was at Waynes. It was in pretty good shape, doesn't look like a front end collision, and we were thinking it was a Sileighty, because of the wiring up front, and the aftermarket front end. Plus, the guy had a gang of gauges on the passenger side, as you'll see in the pics. But the engine did look like it was in good condition, a little dirty, but otherwise nice. I was about to bust out the 10mm socket and pull the valve cover to find out what goodies laid beneath the red cover. But, I'll let the rightful owner open the "present." Anyway, PICS!!!

Haaaahahahahaha!!!!!

Nope, I'm having my trusty mechanic do it. A long time ago, I realized, that while trying to fix old Datsun 510's, that I would have to try much too hard, to develop the ability (and shop space and tool collection) to fix cars. So, I fix computers... and share my cash, with those who know how to fix cars.

We're all good at our own things, you know? =)

I am looking forward to driving the car. When I asked the guys how it would compare to the 2.2L 510, they laughed at me and talked about worlds of difference in performance.

IMO, any car with 4 aftermarket gauges cut into the dash, probrobly had a lot of beating and wear on the motor...

Wayne offered to replace any missing hoses. As for the high number of gauges and the odds of the engine having been beat on, I went into this project figuring that I'd be getting an engine, driven by someone who thought they were a race car driver. That's why the whole thing is going to be pretty much torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. The thinking among the people who are doing my swap is, "If you're going to have an engine out of the car to swap it, you might as well rebuild the damn thing so you don't have to yank it out again, two years down the road."

You do. You'll just spend it over time, as opposed to all up front.;)
