Phase2 Turbo Timer harness

This is for those of you with this harness, what the heck is the stray white wire for??? The harness is completely plug and play into the TT, its obvious where the connections go, but the white wire is kill'n me...whats it for?!?!?! Please help!

e-brake, my HKS harness also had 2 wires to the speed and RPM signal.

Well, Phase2 emailed me back and said the white wire on the harness is not needed and will not work for USDM vehicles. So wtf? So my HKS Type 0 timer won't count down and the black wire is grounded, the gray wire is spliced to the ebrake, the only wire not connected is the brown one and its for the speed sensor,but it says its optional. Is this why its not counting down? Thanks Seva and 574, but that was the first thing I double checked.
