I am experiencing a power drain problem with my Infiniti Q20t. I had an auto electrician and the dealership mechanic look into the problem. The auto-electrician felt the drain was coming from the door's locking mechanism and that a remote was needed to securely lock all doors, there-by killing the power drain. The remote was purchased and programmed. The dealership mechanic tested the car on their sophisticated testing equipment and could not find a power drain. They said "there is no substantial power loss." That was last week and the car ran fine. This morning the battery was completely dead.
Does any one have any ideas what would cause the battery to drain power until it's empty?
P.S. As a side note the tachometer doesn't work. The needle generally idles in the "off" position while driving but it does occasionally bounce all over the place.
Update 1: The car's power is back. It was completely dead this morning, and now all the power is back. Could a bad cell inside the battery cause a power loss?
Update 2: The battery was tested and showed no problems.
