thanks for the feedback, It has a stock KA, the KAT is in my storage waiting for me to get my a** in gear. Im gonna get it warmed over with new gaskets, water pump, ect first though.
so not much updates...heres some pics of my xmas presents from the g/f...
awesome xmas, shes the best
so when I got back my first order of business was finding a place to live close to school with a garage. Problem with this small college town is the closer you are to campus, the s***tier the apartments get, and garages are very uncommon. I lucked out and found a nice place only about a mile from campus and it came with the garage i required. It isnt big or heated but I manage...
lol, ok its downright tiny. I have about 3 feet of space on each side of the car that is technically my space. Luckily the middle stall belongs to the second floor tenant who owns a big a** dodge so she cant even fit her car in the garage haha. So I use her space when Im working and then I just have to make sure i clean everything up and move it all back onto my side when im done for the day
doesnt do much but i can go get warm by it for a few minutes and then go back to work
not much work gets done after dark as this is the only light in the garage lol
simple and basic but I have all the necessary tools for most jobs, and I can wheel it around which is a must for me.
so anyway, today I installed my wheel- thought I would do a little write up
ok first you will want to make sure the wheel is straight before you start. In theory it should make it easier to align the new wheel.now that you have it straight you can go ahead and pull off the plastic cover which covers the horn, I just used my hands and it came off pretty easy, there is 4 clips that hold it in place. dont just yank it off as the wire to the horn is connected to this plastic cover, go ahead and unclip it and set the cover aside.ok so now you have a wheel that looks like this. Get a 19mm socket with an extension and take off the large bolt in the center. Apply equal pressure to the wheel in the opposite direction of the ratchet so that you dont mess with the wheel lock. You will want to leave the nut on the last few threads so when you pull the wheel off you dont bash yourself in the head and look like an idiot. Pull the wheel off, take the nut off the rest of the way and then put the new wheel on, lining it up as center as you can. you will have to wiggle it around untill you catch the spines just right.go ahead and tighten bolt back down, again apply pressure in the opposite direction to avoid messing with the wheel lock. now go ahead and pop the horn cover back on..
thats all for now, its to cold for anything else today. heres a bonus pic of the DD/workhorse
