PFC Problems

I am having a probem w/ my power fc saving changes made w/ the commander. I have an s14 chassis with an s13 sr20det. It does have the ECCS relay in place and functioning. I have read that the pfc needs to stay on a split second after the key is turned off in order for it be written into the nvram. In my case it dosent, but if I hook up 12v constant and hold it there for a split second after the key has been turned off. it will save my changes. How do I get it to work properly? thanks.
