So I quickly learned that I am going to need a pet barrier if I am going to bring my dog in the Pathfinder. The Nissan one seems like a ripoff though - ~$175 shipped is pretty steep for what essentially just one wall of a dog crate. Does anyone have any experience with/suggestions for any other options besides the Nissan one? Or even better, have a Nissan one they want to sell me on the cheap? This is for a 2004 Pathfinder, by the way...

Train the dog to stay in the back?

Or just let the dog sit on the passenger's seat like the dog wants to. Dog's area pack critter, you are their Alpha (or damn well should be) and they want to bewith you.

I've got a 6 month old lab, 48 lbs... She wants to either sit on the armrest in between the two front seats or in my lap when I'm driving. Both not good ideas.

If I put the rear seats down, she'll sit or lay right behind me. Unfortuneatly it's probably not safe for me or the dog if I were to get in a crash.

Anyways, if you want a barrier, pay the $175 so you know that it'll fit and be of good quality. Anything cheaper and you'll get what you pay for.
