Pertronix Ignition Installation

I have a 1970 521 pickup and just ordered the Pertronix electronic ignition for it and it won't fit. Has anyone used the pertronix on their truck? What was the part number that you ordered and did you have any problem installing it? Thanks for the help.

I took the one I bought for my roadster and put it into my 520. Part no. is 1741

The pertronix only works with the single points dizzy. Ask the part guy for a 68 510 distributor and you can put that thing right in there. I think they are only $120 @kragen/oriely.

You also need at leaste 3 ohms of resistance in your coil + ballast resistors. I have the 3ohm flame thrower coil and it still gets to hot so im adding a .8 ohm resistor.
