Car: Thinking my friend and I have mechanical skills

Post

I have a 98 240 in which I have put an s13 blacktop in. I've got it to crank, but it won't start. I am in the military, so I am rarely rarely home. In fact I haven't touched the car since christmas. I think the issue lies somewhere in the timing, but I have found that there are alot of little things that need to be done, like I didn't know untill a couple of days ago that there was a line that ran from the waste gate acctuator to the down pipe. Anyways, the next time I will be home, will be for president's day weekend (valentine's day). I live in Smithville,Tn. My question is, is there anyone around with an SR that wouldn't mind meeting up with me and a couple of my friends and sureing up our work. If you can just point and tell me what needs to be done that would be outstanding. I will be glad to compensate you for you drive and time. If I don't get this thing running on president's day it'll probably be another six months before I'll see the car again. If anybody can help I'd really be forever greatful. Thanks, Scott

No one looks to be ready to help you out in person so I would say to look on http://www.heavythrottle.com in their FAQ. They have a step by step on how to do the SRswap in pretty good detail, you can probably check your work against that. It has pictures and all that good stuff.

I don't live near you or I would help, sorry.

I'm in Knoxville TN and am a relatively competent mechanic. If you have tools at your location I'd be more than glad to come and assist you. It is likely a timing issue. Get me on AIM at Glamdring9 or yahoo at trpower7 and we'll work out a day and time; I have Friday and Sunday free.
